Yup, its already that time again (Thank God). August 7th is the day. Who is going? What are you bringing? I do believe normal service will resume. Hopefully it wont be 1,000 degrees and it wont be raining. I cant say for sure that I am going but I will post the day before if I am or not. If I am there I will be taking video as usual. If you want a spot in the highlight reel please send me a PM and I will make sure to get some shots of your ride. Hope to see a big crowd this month!
Incredible show today. I really enjoyed seeing the brown and gold '70s van, the '03 Chevy SSR pace car (one of the REAL pace cars--out of the 4 made), and the Transformers Saleen Mustang replica. The Buick Reatta was interesting too, as well as the Honda S600 people were calling a Mini Cooper. Anybody happen to catch the conversation between the owner of that Transformers Mustang and the police officer who didn't look too happy that the Mustang looked like a legitimate police car (without likely being a legit one)?
Pretty much the standard Italians exotics, a few really nice 50s cars, Cale Yarborough Cyclone Spoiler, every semi-stock Mustang, Camaro, Cobra replica and Corvette in 3 counties, BMW 1600 convertible, a real SS 396 El Camino, and a couple of really nice older Challengers. The big crowd pleaser seemed to be the black 458, which is still rare enough to be noticed.
You should be sorry for parking in the no parking space. Good thing you weren't in Houston! Bummer about the car.
I have video. I am going to try and have it up by the end of the day, if not then keep an eye out for it tomorrow. Got some great material this month.
Texting while driving? Seriously, I know that could not have been what happened. I hope nobody was hurt. Details?
You mean this one? No I didn't, but I did see a real Plano officer talking over by the Mustang "Police Car" when I go there. I just glanced & thought it was the local PD that brought one of those "we seized a drug dealer car" trophy things they bring out to show off & raise awareness of an anti-drug message. Later, when I looked closer at the car, I could see what it was (not a real cop car) & thought about what the real cops might have been saying about someone driving something like this on the streets. The transformers police car is not a real police car, however it is owned by a real police officer. I'm not sure if it makes a difference, but I read this over on another forum.
lol I liked the odd look of the sights video around 3 minutes, it was cool looking. The sound video was good too.
