The franchine owner explained about that - he said they had to have a sign to get a business license, and put it in front of their used car outlet. In retrospect, he admitted - bad idea. He says they have people stop by his worst-looking building, wondering why there are no Fiskers. He said they are in the process of razing a couple of buildings to build a first-class dealer building for the franchise. In the meantime, they obviously have a car to display now.

Awesome turnout indeed...I didn't get a chance to see the 04 Z06, but would love to next week.

A bunch of us left early to head to Summit Pt for the Turkey Bowl!

I hadn't been down to Katie's in quite a while. It was good to see some great cars and catch up with some old friends.

My personal favorite was the Lister Jag replica. Not sure if it's been discussed here before. The owner and his brother fabricated two of them from scratch over a period of about four years, including the chassis and all the carbon body panels. It's got a modified LS7 motor, which he said makes 600+hp (and the car weighs about 2000lbs). The level of craftsmanship was exceptional.

I also liked the Austin 7. I bet it's a hoot to drive.

    Good pictures!

That is a famous yellow Volvo that is owned by an fchatter.
If you look closely, you'll see that the front seats are yellow & black Daytona seats out of a Ferrari 550.
Maybe Mike uses Competizione for just his seat maintenance. :)

(See posts #281 & #282 in this thread for more info on the yellow Volvo).

Yeh, I let Richard and Fernando ride my coat tails to fame and fortune. As far as service/maintenance on the Volvo goes, that is all done by my own hand. The Competizione guys are the ones for spaghetti and meatballs, while I stick to the Swedish meatballs.

Already have 'em. Just don't want to be TOOOOOO flashy at the sedate and restrained environment of Katie's.

    LOL!

I agree though - that Grey Pouponish Mustard paint job is pretty spicy.

Although it was a bit brisk at sunrise with the top down, it was a fun day to drive al fresco. Jim's luggage for the Mercedes was top notch. Some very complex curves incorporated into those boxes. They used imported birch for the wood, matching Italian leather on the exterior and alcantara on the inside with a plate commemorating the serial number of the car.

Also paid attention to the tail dragging pickup truck. That thing had some great details in it as well as some rubber bits melted onto the bumper! Tifosi was there with his beautiful 355. Saw Barry with the 360. How did the trip to Josh's go?

Also ran into Chuck Wray. Weather permitting he and his dad will bring out the finest 512 on this side of the ocean next week.

    regards

So I was at Katies this past Saturday and when I got back to my car to leave I noticed that some ****** had dumped some grass and dirt on one of the air box covers and on the expansion tank. Had the lid open for show. WTF??

That rat rod truck was down here for C&C back in Nov, the level of detail on that thing is just incredible.

I parked near the main entrance to the lot and most people tend to congregate around the center or further down from Katie's. I backed in to the space so I guess someone could quite easily have looked like they were looking into the engine while they dumped the dirt etc.
Always a first for these things. I now need to keep a closer eye on the car if I attend again.

You know Bill, I can believe it. It's just that we are used to meeting with and talking with such nice people at these events but there is always one bitter prick out there. I hope he gets caught one day.
It's all clean now and thank goodness no harm done.
    Kevin.
