Ok, I am aware that there is already some small groups of folks who have organized weekend C&C meets in the region, however, I feel like with the spring and summer ahead, there is a need for something much larger. This past summer I was interning out in Las Vegas, and was blown away by the turnout that their weekly meets received. I know that the demographic helps with this, but I feel like something along the lines of this should be organized for the DC/MA/VA region. If anyone is interested in trying to organize something like this, please speak up. Here is the website and forum for the host of the Las Vegas and Irvine, CA shows, http://www.carsandcoffee.info/ I personally do not know how much I could contribute to organizing such an event, but with enough interest I feel it could be somewhat of a success. Personally, I am from the Baltimore area but, attend the University of Maryland so am frequently in DC/NOVA. Daily I see some amazing cars, and I know there are many enthusiasts on this forum and others in the area so I'm sure others would be willing to participate.

Thanks all, and let the discussion begin!

Email Kae. She's great at putting all this together and I think she and a few car club friends already have this on the agenda for Baltimore in 2009. She keeps a list of Guest Services Volunteers, too, to help out with different car club and charity events. She's the one getting ready for more "Unique & Antique" auto shows for summer and Coffee Clutch meetings with guest mechanics and specialty service providers.

We've also got family and friends in VA (and DC... all the way down to Florida), so she can connect a few leads down in Southeastern regions as well. I think the target for the announcement of steady meetup dates is March 15 at the Italianizzato club dinner. From what I understand, she's (we're) planning on having an indoor Italian bike show that afternoon. Tentatively. After that, what she does during the warmer weather is all fair game.

Don't forget volunteers and display cars are needed in Baltimore for the USO Metro fundraiser "Maserati of Baltimore Rally for the Troops" for 2009 [moving to July or August] and for the Children's Guild 2009 Viva Italia Concours D'Elegance All Italian Show [in late September].

Email [email protected] or [email protected].

Another good set of people to ask about car meetups are TW & Jeanette Scott. They know just about every car event in Maryland and Virginia. PM for contact info.

We're always happy to do what we can to encourage car clubs and enthusiasts to get together. Hopefully, we'll be able to participate more fully in the different Eastern Seaboard regions as the years progress. 2008 has been a busy year getting MOB created and established, so we apologize for our car community absences at other groups events.

Depending on what your looking for, there is a get together every Sunday morning in Burtonsville, MD (i.e., the holy doughnut) and you can do a search to see the threads and photos. It is every Sunday and I think the average is about 200+ from March/April to October/November. There are lots of muscle, classic, and some exotics, but no german cars. It's a nice group of car guys and great way to spend a sunday morning and there have been organized exotic drives afterwards.

While I still don't have an F-car (yet), I do have an espresso bar in Towson, MD if you decide to have a cars and coffee thing in Baltimore.

Our espresso bar is in the public library so there's plenty of gathering space and a parking garage that's street grade accessible and covered for inclement weather. We open at 9am on Saturdays and would be happy to host a gathering should people decide to come this way.

That's a tad far for me, but a terrific invite for others near you. Would you consider completely moving your establishment a tad farther south just for this hospitality?

I would also go alot more often, but the distance sucks. Be nice to find something on the southern outskirts of DC, even Bowie area
