    Folks,
    >>>>>Update: We are going to have a C&C on this Saturday, Feb 26th! Looks like the rain over the next two days will clean up the winter mess and we will get a nice day on Saturday to hold our first C&C of the year!<<<<<

After a tough winter, we would like to welcome everyone to the new season of Cars and Croissants! The meet keeps growing and we had some great firsts last year (SLA, FLA, 100 year old RR). By the end of 2010, we had over a 100 cars showing up regularly and the variety has been just amazing.

As we mentioned in our kick off email in prior years, C&C is completely casual and informal. Just a bunch of car guys getting together on a Saturday/Sunday morning. No cost to you except for what you want to spend at the local shops. Please feel to invite others who might enjoy our gatherings.

The details (please read as there are a few changes):

Location: Parking lot of the Woodland Bakery, 650 Shunpike Road, Chatham, NJ 07928

    A few requests:
    1) Please do not park in the first row of parking spaces on the right as you enter the parking lot
    2) Please obey all posted parking signs and, especially, leave any handicapped spots open for those who may need them;
    3) Please do not lay down any rubber when leaving the parking lot!
Time: 8:30 - 11:00AM (We have noticed that parking lot now starts to fill up with shoppers after 11AM; a fixed end time will hopefully reduce crowding for both groups).

I was planning on taking the car out Saturday anyway since the Friday rain should clean up the muck on the roads- should be a great kickoff to the '11 season!

An amazing turnout this morning. As I told a friend, if we're already getting that many cars (and a Spyker) in February, then I can't even imagine what it's going to be like in the summer. May need a bigger lot haha! Glad to get back, love these.

BTW- Appreciate you letting me sit in the Enzo Rich, was amazing.

First time at this event and I had a great time. Good bunch of car guys and plenty of cool cars.

    My count had:
couple of old school early 70's 911s
half dozen current 911s including turbo S Cab
    a black 328
an Enzo (fall off your chair cool)
    a red 360
    a SPyker
    an Alfa 8C
a Mazda Miata with a supercharger

    I'm sure I'll be back.

Missed this by a day due to travel.

Glad to see the 70s 911 crew is out in force. It is pretty cool seeing 5 or 6 of them in a row in these 70s color schemes looking very stock. No flares, scoops, blackout, etc.

I'm hurt that you did not notice my Daytona. I will have it re-painted pink so it will stand out! :)

Kirk you may have to re-start/re-set the "featured car" feature of the C&C meets...the first car "presented" was your Daytona and some people forget it's significance :) 174MPH in the late 60's was something people were talking about for quite some time (and still are)! I'll start with some facts from Wikipedia:

    Achievements and notoriety:

In 2004, the Daytona was voted top sports car of the 1970s by Sports Car International magazine. Similarly, Motor Trend Classic named the 365 GTB/4 and GTS/4 as number two in their list of the ten "Greatest Ferraris of all time".

In 1971, the Daytona gained notoriety when one was driven by Dan Gurney and Brock Yates in the inaugural Cannonball Baker Sea-To-Shining-Sea Memorial Trophy Dash. The pair won with an average speed of 80.1 miles per hour (129 km/h), completing the distance from New York to L.A. in 35 hours 54 minutes (2,876 miles (4,628 km)).

On a related note, I'm going down to the Amelia Island Concours (just as a spectator) in 10 days. On Saturday, March 12, they are going to have a 2 hour seminar on that race from 1971. The winning Daytona will be there as will a number of the participants including Brock Yates and other Cannonball Run participants who will tell some stories about the event. Should be fun.

So you will have to forgive m for I'm not great at identifying Ferrari's. I did walk around your car twice thinking, "is that a Daytona? Really, a Daytona?" I finally decided that it couldn't actually be a Daytona, b/c who actually has a Daytona. I'm not at the Gooding Auction or anything, so that just can't be a Daytona.

I stand both corrected and duly awed.

Hope to meet you next time,
    Adam

Wait till you see the early 60's Ferrari 250SWB -- a multiple-million dollar car and he drives it all the time. Or the 1911 RR Ghost. Or the other 2 Daytonas that show up which both have 9000 miles on the odometer! And on and on. Incredible.
