I have been travelling most of this Summer/Fall, so unfortunately had to miss most C&C get togethers. Hope you guys have fun. Best, Mike.
shame you guys do this so damn early. can't stand waking up early, and especially won't do it on a saturday after a late friday night of partying.
Looking forward to it! It's supposed to be a glorious, sunny day. Definitely bringing out the 328. @rmani -- I'm sure no one here feels sorry for you. You know, if you stay out late enough, you don't have to go to bed... you can just drive to C&C directly from your last party spot. Besides, sleeping is over-rated. You'll have plenty of time to do that when you're dead!
I think for many people who have busy weekends with errands, family whatever the early time is was makes it work- you can still have the whole day to get stuff done, and a side benefit is the roads are empty for those of us driving 20-30 minutes to get there- what a great excuse to go out and drive with the road largely to yourself! That said, I was young once and understand your pain. 10-15 years ago I'd never be able to get up early enough to one of these either.... Nowadays I'm up already at that time- in fact I probably get up earlier just because it's more motivating to get out of bed for this than during the week for work
Great Dennis! See you then. Save me a parking spot next to you!! Better make it two; I think Paul is coming also.
Well said Andrew. Those are exactly the reasons why we have it at 8:30. I actually wanted it to start earlier. I believe the grandfather of these events -- Cars & Coffee out in southern California -- starts at something like 6 am. They get hundreds and hundreds of cars. As all parents know, when you have kids (until they become teenagers), they will have a tendancy to get up earlier on the weekends than on weekdays, 6 am is a typical 'jump into Mom and Dad's bed' kind of wake-up time. Doesn't matter how late you stayed out the night before. Rmani -- your partying Friday nights are limited -- enjoy them while you can.
I am about an hour away from Chatham but am considering taking a nice morning drive up there... How many folks typically show up? Is there a significance to this particular C&C as it is titled "Photo Tutorial"? Thanks and regards, Scott
Scott, Expect anywhere between 50 - 100 cars. The weather looks great so I wouldn't be surprised to see the higher end of that range. The photo tutorial refers to a special talk that will be given by one of our regulars on how to take great pictures of our rides! Hope to see you on Sat! -abi
Exactly! On a "normal" Saturday, I'm out of the house by 6:30 for a bike ride. Going to C&C is sleeping in for me. I'll be there with my Ti/blk 360. Too cold for the Cobra. Hope to have my buddy in tow with his supercharged Elise or (if it's fixed) his Noble.
I say make the drive (in your 911!)! Won't be long before the nasty weather comes with the road salt and the weekend toys will be packed away. Man I hate the winter....
I plan on being there. Might not be 8:30AM sharp but I'll do the best I can.... and yes, I'll (we'll) be in the 911. : ) Looking forward to meeting some new folks, seeing some great cars and maybe learning how to take better pictures... Scott
People come later than 8:30, and stay as long as they want- there is no rigid time really, which is also nice- it's just a group of car nuts hanging out with no fixed schedule...whenever you get there you get there!
Weather looks great, looking forward to it, as I've missed many of the C&C events this year unfortunately! It's my wife's Bday, so I'm lucky she appreciates my passion for automobiles and will be with me as well as our 2 boys...
Comin' on out with the NART 275 Spyder, SN 3342 Um.....not really.... but it got ya goin' for a moment. The top does go down, though...
This event does start pretty early for a weekend and the cars seem to leave before the sun really starts to warm up the air. It would be nice to see cars still in the lot after noontime. Otherwise, this is a great event! I should be there with my Delorean, if she feels like starting.... If not, I'll see if the Mondial is in the mood to start which I doubt. I let my cars sit too long.
Another excellent event! The two jag e-types were beautiful (both early examples)- many great cars and people! 1st generation Euro M3 was quite nice...and the red AC cobra! And the early Fiat- so many gems were there...
Over 100 cars today. A special thanks to Brian Ach for his informative photography lesson. And a personal thanks to Brian and Michelle for the time they spent with my wife and me helping with all the questions we had. Here is a small selection of the days attendees. This bi-weekly gathering will get bigger due to the nice array of vehicles and interesting talks between one another. Going once this year already gave me the feeling that exotic car owners are bound to spread the good word. I'll go again sometime next year, can't get sucked into this greatness. To the lurkers just looking at these C&C threads, it's best not to show up and just view the pictures...you don't want this far from average experience
