I don't know if it is fake or not. Maybe that's why he decided not to bring it. I would still like a ride in it.
I think a great replica could be worthy of showing. I've never had the privilege of seeing a P3/4 or a 250 GTO in person, so replicas would be very interesting to see.
You make a good point, I suppose a zero tolerance policy would be for the best. Besides, there's no rule against the P3/4 replica being parked in the adjacent lot for $5, so perhaps that's the best solution.
In my book there is a difference between a 250 GTO kit on a Datsun 280Z, and a ground up re-creation of a P4 with a tubular frame, and hand hammered aluminum body. I think the re-creation is worthy of ICF, but the GTO is not. My guess is the P4 in question is one of these. http://www.p4bynorwood.com/p4_V126_spec.htm
I'm going to try bringing my Espada, but it's not up to show standards. The paint is, well - yuch. The rest of the car is suitable, but I won't have any judging this year. I'll try to get the Mondial there, but that's no big deal, they will prolly make me park it out in the visitor lot with the rest of the plebian assembly.
We would prefer something not described as "yuch". We have no prejudices against Mondials - there are a couple registered.
