Assume you are directing the car casting for a 2008 series remake as opposed to the often rumored movie. Would you stick with the last 308 (1984QV) for continuity? Would you stay in a more classic era maybe a 328 for some evolution but big recognition? Or would we see a 430 or 599 or Superamerica.....Oh yah and the original cast with well oiled joints.

The car was owned by Robin. He'd have the latest machinery, not some oldslowclassicjunker. Don't forget you need a drop top for filming, so you're looking at a 430 Spider or a California.

You might have a dusty 308 in the garage, have Magnum limp by it and run his hand over it before jumping in the newhotness.

He kept the 308 past its replacement date. Ther is a scene in the last season where a black 328 is in the back ground. And upgradeing all the way to a 360 or 430 would remove the chance of TC doing a really bad tune up on it, or TM being out driven by a Ford Grenada.

Maybe have a shot of Magnum going to Robins garage,
heading over to the 308, then sees the 430 off to the
side and goes for it instead.

A 15 yr old last run 93 Mondial t Cabrio. Easy ingress and egress for the lads. And a California as the main star.

James went from Aston Martin to Lotus to BMW and back. Which car maker will ante up the most placement $$$.

Porsche will want to beat out Ferrari and has the $$$... Can you say Carrera GT??

They can have my 78 308GTS for $250,000. I'll even throw in an oil change.

I'd go with a 288 GTO, since it's like a super version of the 308 anyway while keeping the same general "look", and it's also my vehicle of choice for driving around Oahu in Test Drive Unlimited (for the races/missions when I have a choice).

Even though this has been discussed in many previous Magnum threads...I would love to see a 308 somewhere in the doubtful movie. But, do you really think that the studio exec/producers would care about using a 30 year old car in the movie. To them it I'm sure they would just go for what ever is current.

    Sorry to be so negative.

Yeah, the 288 GTO would be really cool.

Oh, wait, I forgot about the convertible part. I guess the 288 GTO wouldn't work. (Or is there a convertible for the 288? I can't say I've ever seen any Barchetta version of the 288 outside of Out Run: 2006 Coast 2 Coast.)

I'd just stick with the 308 then. From what I've observed at the Ottawa Ferrari Festival, the 308 still has absolutely no problems turning people's heads, even with the young'uns. Any Ferrari that isn't wedge-shaped just wouldn't look right with Magnum.

Scud. No other car is worthy of Magnum.

Definitely do the 'transfer' of love from the 308 to the Scud though and bring out the 308 every once in a while for a 'sunny day' drive.
But, Make it a scud. No need for a convertible.

They'd have to cast a Ferrari because it's so associated
with Magnum. But then again James Bond did use a Bimmer
    until recently.

Robin Masters can afford to have a 360/430 in his garage. That's my pick.
