Work schedule was sketchy so did not enter either car but if things are smooth Sunday and weather looks good I may get the TR out and run by early afternoon
There turned out to be a couple Lambos and several Ferraris at the Castle Rock show the day before fathers day...interested to see what shows up to this.
Why would a normal thinking person pay money to display their car so that mall retailers can bring in more traffic?
Gotta agree with Luke here. There seems to be an "exotic" car show every weekend. I believe cars and coffee is free...yup it is. Or for just the price of a cup of coffee
Gift bag for registering and 1st thru 3rd place prizes. But hey, why do people truck their cars across the country, hell, the world, to also then pay a sheet ton of money to put it in a "big name" show? So they can overpay for food and hotels and bring in more traffic to local businesses? Besides, what's 10 bucks? You spend that driving from the south end of town to Boulder...
I'll drive down the highway and turn off at that exit and bring them a ton of traffic but I'm not giving them $10 for a thank you lol. Maybe the Civic owners feel differently dunno...
$10 is probably below costs to put in a show. Things like renting cones, printing dash card and forms, ramps if needed, pa system and music rental, golf carts, etc etc add up. Is a t-shirt included, do profits go to a charity? Also at times, the entry fee helps keep daily drivers out. So you know, i have nothing to do with the show.- just sharing reasons someone may charge at a mall.
The flier mentions the proceeds benefit....On Target 4 Veterans (OT4V) Home Sounds like a great charity, wouldn't you agree?!
Jeeze Debbie Downer, the money is for charity, you get a $5.00 gift card, a gift bag, and a pancake breakfast. Not a bad deal IMHO...
was this show a good turnout? i was going to go, but spent the day fishing. curious to hear the cars that were there.
I went by mid-afternoon - pretty sparse - Some nice late-model Vettes - A 575 Maranello from the Auto Spa guys - Dan the Vehicle Vault guy had his 16M and Bentley there - pretty 400i - That's about it but I guess I got there late. Great drive in the TR though!
The red Evergreen Countach was there when I was about 12:30. Interesting purple XKE coupe. Mondial convert. Blue 430 just outside the cones. Otherwise, pretty typical car show stuff. '32's, muscle, & Vettes, which are all great, just typical.
Sucks I missed the Countach since I had the TR - would have been fun to get a retro-80s supercar shot Still a great day for the cars to be out and headed into old Castle Rock for a quick Marg at my friend's new restaurant so all in all a great day
I got there very late, but managed to check out a few of the cars Saw the white TR as it was leaving- looking good!
