    Hi guys!

Any of you have been fitted test pipes in a 355?
There is any power increase that you can feel while drive?

I suposed that if the cats are not in the best moment of their life, the slow down light will stop....

    Thank's

    I don't have a 355, but I can notice a nice difference in my 348.

I installed Larini test pipes on my 96 F355. I didn't really notice any power or performance difference. But I did notice a nice sound difference and now have flames that come out of the exhaust at high rpm's. I get a CEL, but I have an OBDII scanner to reset the light. I also still get slow down light issues, but that's not related to the pipes or cats.

I fitted test pipes. There is no useful difference in performance, however, there is a BIG reduction in engine bay temperatures, there is also a significant increase in exhaust noise.

I am now running with the cats again.

I used the test pipes to definatively point the SDL at the exhaust computer (which still cost $600 to replace)

The pipes go in and come out in less than, but about, 1 hour if you have a lift.

Bite your tongue sir!! No such thing as "exhaust noise"; it's a wonderful exhaust note.

    Let me help :)

    Smelly

Loud, but in a F-1 kind of way

96-99 check engine light within 200 miles

No gain in performance ( maybe even a loss in lower rpm range)

    Cooler exrenal temps.

Sounds great with Tubi ( yep said it again)

    Enjoy

I was using a Innova 3100. Worked great. Only downside is it resets all of your OBDii sensors. So in California at smog test time you would need to complete an entire drive cycle to get all of your sensors ( well 5 out of 7, can't remeber the exact number) to go solid on your Scanner.

This could take over 100 miles of driving. Once driving cycle was complete afetr a CEL reset then the car was ready for the smog test.

what do you mean entire drive cycle to get all of your sensors to go solid?
if i buy the scanner- reset the CEL light, then goto emmission check
    what will happen?

In California the Tech hooks on to your OBDii port. The smog machine will see that you just reset your CEL. Some parts of the OBDii are continuous sensors some only monitor when certain criteria is met like the Evap sensor needs X amount of fuel in tank before it tests that part of the OBDii.

Unless you know the exact 20 step procedure to force a complete drive cycle you could be driving 100 plus miles randomly. If you get your Innova 3100 and you reset your light each component will flash until the system has completed that part of the self test (drive cycle). In Calicornia you need all but two I beleive to go solid on you 3100. Then your ready to test.

While we're on the topic of OBDII scanners, I got one myself, but it appears as though my car only takes to the scanner one time.

I get a new scanner, it reads the codes no problem, but only one time. Next time i plug that same scanner up, it tells me it cannot communicate with the vehicle.

anyone have a similar problem like this?

Do you have the engine running when you scan? For my car, the engine must be running or the scanner will not connect.

Yeah I've tried it every which way. This has happened with two different scan tools now.
