Without the element of surprise, my money is on the cat, hands down. Ever try to beat the **** out of a full-grown cat with it's claws? They're strong mo-fo's and much more aggessive than an eagle, which would probably just give up and find something easier to eat.
The eagle would woop a cat's ass in a match to the death. Raptors like falcons hawks and eagles are purposeful killing machines. 3 ft long with a 7 ft wingspan - they can weigh up to 20 lbs. Their claws are about 2 inches each and their legs are designed to plunge those in deep into its victim then crush whatever it catches between them. I doubt the cat would inflict a single wound. They are the miniature version of real cats - perfect size to curl up on your lap next to the fire on a cold winter night while the eagle tries to figure out how it's going to find its next meal. http://www.hickerphoto.com/data/media/161/eagle-talon_T4837.jpg Mind elaborating so people don't get the idea that you are speaking from experience. . . although it sounds like the cat got the best of you.
OK....a second look at the pic shows that the eagle is hunched down, bigger than I first thought. I do know raptors are no joke, but a really po'd cat isn't one either, and if the eagle doesn't have the advantage of swooping in and 'capturing' the cat, I think the cat might drive him off. Could be wrong.... For the record, I hate cats, and yes, there is a story. The short version is that I was trying to stuff one that bit me (a go to the emergency-room kinda bite) into a pet carrier and a long fight ensued. I eventually won, but it was a struggle. The cat weighed nearly 20 lbs, had claws, his balls, and was as mean as they get. Guess I should be rooting for the Eagle. OK, fine, my money's on him.
1) Photo is real and you can see the rest at snoops 2) Unless that cat is packing a gun, it is about to get it's ass just KICKED 3) Repost!!!! Sorry but I have to play these on you now. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
I'm not sure exactly how birds of prey kill their meals. But unlike a rabbit, a house cat turns into a whirling mass of needle sharp claws & fangs when threatened. I think a cat may twist & claw its way from the talons of an eagle. My question is: if dropped from 100 feet will a cat land on its feet & shake it off?
I recently saw a movie of a cat falling out of a three on tv. About 75ft, and it walked away unharmed.
I saw that as well. As for the cat vs. eagle, I believe that cat is from Harry Potter and will transform itself into a lion and kill the eagle.
I think they'll become friends, and the eagle will carry the cat true the skies, and they will have all kinds of amazing adventures!
I think the eagle will fly off. It is in no position to fight. Their talons are useful only for swooping in from above and in the eagle's case, fish is their main prey. They don't use the beaks except to tear up something they already caught and killed. Dave
I still think he could put a good 'ol dent on puddy tat's noggin with this. Image Unavailable, Please Login
I visited a wild bird sanctuary some years ago and learned that your average adult eagle can snap a man's arm in half with ease. Anyone still want to bet on that stupid cat????? But, of course I hope they will become friends.
Actually, it's a metaphor. The great eagle of democracy is preparing to gut the sinister white cat of terrorism.
There's a reason US doesn't use a puddy tat as a symbol on currency or other stuff... Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Jeeze, there was a serious debate going and it turned into silliness--how unusual...(yeah, I'm whoring,a first for me.)
Im betting on the eagle. See top of right column http://www.birdnature.com/jan1899/eagle1.html Image Unavailable, Please Login
