Hello all; My other post need help with oil leak spells out my problem and where I am at in trying to solve it. My question here is does anyone know if the catalytic converters on a 360 Stradale contin a liquid sheel or if they can breakdown and leak what lookks feel ans smeels like oil?
I agree with the others, I think you are seeing exhaust / condensation residue because you have an exhaust leak with your passenger side cat. I wish I had a picture, but I often get black condensation out the tips of my 360 Spider. You should be able to tell by running your fingers through the residue / fluid that is leaking and tell whether it is motor oil, or black colored water.
No exhaust smoke and not condensation this is oil dripping from the lower outside corner of the cat. These pictures are taken with the engine running as you can see no smoke but oil drip..It starts only after the engine is totally warmed up. From the bottom photo, yes it certainly looks like oil. Until you take it to a dealer to diagnose we won't have an answer. I have never seen a similar thread, so you might have a unique situation? The CS guys, like Stockpro would be my first advice to contact.
First, thank you for taking pictures. Second.. that is a monkeys uncle! Next step might just have be to taking the muffler off and seeing what's going on in the Cat. Very interesting... and sorry that your baby has had this pop up! :-(
Looks like somehowoil was spilled in the exterior shell pf the cat and would only leak out when it got hot and lost some viscosity. Thank eveyone for their input.
