Does anyone know of an organization that would take two eight year old male cats? The cats have been fixed, front claws removed, & are strictly indoors animals, they are afraid to go outside. When my mother passed I thought I could deal with them but these things produce so much cat hair I'm sure it's effecting my allergies. I've been trying to get the house straightened out & these cats are causing some major interference. Regardless, they were my mother's pride & joy & I'd looking to find better suited home for them rather than mine. Anyone have some ideas?

    Thanks,

    Will

Looks like the one on the left is having allergies as well. You need to use a damp paper towel and gently clean his eyes.

I'm sorry, but I can't help with the living situation for them. :(

If you find a home for them, don't forget to send them in an FAA certified carrier! :)

I know, I know, it's tacky. I just don't get a chance to use it much.

    Will,

Check with the vet that cared for the cats, they may know someone who will take them. Or there is a no-kill shelter in Granbury if you get desperate.

Also the cat carrier above double as a siren if you tighten the screw enough. :)

That's an older photo from the fall 2007, I think I caught Buster on a bad day. The other cat is Bubba his brother from the same litter. My mom got them both back in 2001 when they were six months old from a animal rescue service. Rumor was there were found at a flea market where it's was well known some sickos would acquire cats like this for torture or sacrifice. I just want them to have a good loving home where no harm will come to them.

    Wow !
Looks just like our cat Chloe.
I know of a shelter in Grapevine where we got our cat.
Unfortunately we are currently overstocked on animals :(

Dont they have alergy shots for cats ?

I think I saw one of those at your house...isn't that what Christy uses to take you on the airplane?

    Will,

Check this place out...click on the "visit our adoptions page" button. The cats will get nothing but the best care there. We adopted two of our present cats...brother and sister kittens...there.

BTW, sympathies on the loss of your mom...I've been there with both parents.

Some more photos, my cousin in New Mexico has offered to adopt them but they will be living on a ranch outside of Ruidoso & she's about 3 weeks from visiting. I'm not sure if they will have a good survival rate out there. I've grown a bit attached to them but they still shed & stink up the house to no end.

Bubba has blues eyes & is larger than is brother, Buster has yellow eyes & is thinner. Also their "Meows" are very distinctive, Bubba is a bit more high pitched than Buster.

This is harder than I thought, I went to Petsmart to get some cat box liners & spoke with a woman from a local adoption agency, currently they are are full for the summer & most likely will not be taking any new cats in, one thing that I did notice is she had that creepy old catlady persona about her. I got out of there before she started throwing cats at me.

I wish I could offer more insight and suggestion's but have you looked into a 'no kill' adoption agency? This past summer I requested a stray dog, barely 1yr old, in a very sad state and brought him home for the night and filled his belly and gave him love until he could not take anymore. The next day I brought him to a 'no kill' adoption agency and was very surprised and happy with the outcome although I cried like a baby as I drove away because I wanted to keep and nurture him back to health and the trust he gave me was undescribeable.

Sorry to ramble on and if I could take the two old boy's I would, sorry I cannot help,
    Gregg

If you put them in the Dallas paper for $500 each and claim they are a rare breed of cat, they might be gone by this weekend. ;)

A couple of handsome cats, BTW. If I wasn't allergic to them, I'd have you ship them to me via the carrier that Jim so kindly suggested.

I've never had one, but keeping the cats might help keep some happy memories of your mom around...

Sorry but those two remind me of the two Siamese cats who sang endlessly in the Disney movie "Lady and the Tramp." Those two got into more mischief than you could "shake a stick at" and all of it got blamed on the poor dog!

Perhaps there is a WhitecatChat dot com? :D

Will, whatever you do please don't separate them. Wish I could help, have had 3 cats, now only one, all have been rescue kitties.
Cat hair are a pain but you can overcome this with a little extra work. Put towels out wherever there favorite spot is, when company comes remove them. Put the litter box in the laundry room and clean out box everyday.
Can't you do it for your Mother and keep them? I would help, but working for the Airlines keep me away from home 3-4 days at a time and cats do need a little bit more attention, feel bad for my cat Ludwig but I tell him its better than the alternative. LOL
Don't you have an other family member who could take them?
