I took a country drive through a small town in N. Florida this morning. A local officer of the law pulled me over for going 60 in a 35 zone. I made no excuses because I had no excuses. Just wasn't paying attention to the signs. Anyway, after the officer ran my paper work and saw that everything was in order. He returned to my car with a warning. That's all. A warning! He said it was the first time he'd stopped a Ferrari. He asked some questions about paddle shifters, top-end speed and so forth, said he loved the car and let me go on my way. And prior to this incident (first time I've been stopped in my hobby car) I was under the impression that all officers of the law were out to get us.

I have been pulled over at least 50 times in Ferraris. For 3 years I worked in a dealer without a drivers license and was pulled over many times. Not once did I get a ticket. It pays to be polite and respect they are doing their job. We may not like the law being enforced but on the road is not the place to make that argument and they have no tolerance for excuses or lies.

That's cool, I had a Cop pull me over in my GT for being a little exuberant accelerating through traffic. He reminded me to watch my 6 before nailing it, checked my papers, told me he owned a Cobra Snake & let me off :)

    There are some good guys

You guys are lucky--while I have always been polite, I've never been let go for speeding!

I guess I'm lucky, sort of. I've been pulled over twice in my C6 Z06 and was pretty far over the limit and once in the CS and was just given a warning. However, in my truck or wife's car I get tickets.

Was told by a fireman (female) that if her LEO husband saw me in the CS he would look for a reason to pull me over just to look at the car. I told her I would be glad to give him a ride...

I got caught doing 120mph+ in a highly modified Porsche Turbo in Georgia, I-75 North, just south of Macon, very late at night. Not my car, Ohio plates, I was in jeans, full beard, if it were me, I would have put me in jail in Macon. I looked like the typical drug dealer of that period. A very scary thought.

But, when I saw the trooper, I knew I was nailed. I pulled over and waited. He drove right past me. Turned around, came back. I had to get into his car.

Five minutes later, he told me to back off the speed, do the limit, and off I went. Until I got to Dalton, then back to work.

I assume he figured if I did not try to outrun him, I must have been legit.
