That is one of supposedly six Zagatos 575s. They are rebodied 575 Maranellos by Zagato, as a tribute to the original car, also in my photos. In person, they are beautiful, I would love to have one. Original on the left, the newer version on the right: Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login

How did the dark blue Zagato end up finishing? Mark had it in our warehouse to prep for the event and I was drooling over it all weekend. What a gorgeous car. The "new" version doesn't even come close.
Hello Jim: I was referring to a much later production Corvette and sorry but frankly don't see the resemblance between the very angular car shown in your reference and the Fantuzzi or its new take. best regards, Marc
The dark blue/white top was the new Zagato. The original was more of a dark silver, and not every car on the lawn is judged. Not sure if this one was just on display or judged.
Keep in mind the Mako Shark was shown a bit earlier than the Fantuzi LMB. And the Fantuzi car, aka the Golden Ferrari, and the 68-69 Corvette (photo of silver car) were about the same time. It would be rather coincidental to think one copied the other, but using the Mako Shark as a starting point would have been a good idea. Whoops! I meant to type dark charcoal/silver. My brain is still fried from lack of sleep. I'm 99% sure Mark was having it judged. I know it did well at Pebble and certainly thought it would do well Saturday. I spent quite a bit of time looking at it over the week and kept discovering some beautiful, subtlety every time I looked.
Great pictures and finally an explanation of where the 540 came from on the Superfast Aperta, I had been wondering how they got that number but it makes sense
