Just received email for the 2025 Classic. F50 and FXX will be celebrated. Image Unavailable, Please Login Tickets $456 for GA. If the F50 is celebrated, I wonder if the GT will be there.
For the sake of accuracy this thread should be renamed Palm Beach; west Palm Beach is another city, this is a common confusion. Historically West Palm Beach, inland across the intracoastal waterway, is where the house staff of Palm Beach mansions were housed; maids, butlers gardeners...WPB then grew exponentially into a bigger town all the way west to the Everglades as there was space, whereas Palm Beach is a narrow coastal barrier island. Both the Breakers and Mar a Lago are in Palm Beach, NOT WPB.
Marc is correct, of course. Although the island of Palm Beach is almost 12 miles long, it is only 4 short blocks wide at its widest point, whereas West Palm on the mainland has grown into a city.
Cavallino just announced they will have an Australia event with the help of Ferrari Australasia Image Unavailable, Please Login While i understand why they are doing this, it begs the question - with Cavallino in Italy, in Middle East and now OZ - Why would owners ship their cars to Florida? Will the Palm Beach only attract North American owners?
Will they ship Tortellini from Maranello, Modena and/or Reggio Emilia to Sydney, AUS? That is the key question. Marcel Massini
They must be low on entrants because they just offered FCA members 10% off General Admission and a place for their car on the main lawn. That can only mean the proper vintage car entries are way down and they are looking for local cars as "filler".
I have only asked one regular entrant, a very significant collector. He is blowing it off this year. Maybe a sign. Not a a great deal of the lawn usually taken up by vintage cars was needed last year. Was used by displays of current cars instead.
Last year was light on vintage cars and I think this year will be even lighter. I'll do Thursday night's party but I'm sitting the concours out this year. I still like the modern cars but I can see them any day of the week for free.
See you at the party. I'll buy you a drink. Come to think of it, it might be a better collection of cars.
You know, I had heard that in the old days that happened once in a while but John picked up the phone, made some calls and called in a few favors. Helps to have friends.
Judging by the lack of responses, it seems like not a lot of you will go for the classic this coming year.
Trust me, if I want excellent Tortellini I sure go to Mamma Rossella at Ristorante Montana in Maranello. And I don't need a G700 to go there, my tired old F12 TDF is sufficient to do that trip. Marcel Massini
Well, my comment was meant as tongue-in-cheek humor. You know, like tortellini jokes, but apparently not everyone got it. Besides, I thought judges would usually have to "sign up" after receiving "an invitation"(?) and not just show up at will.
