ok, i know nothing about cavallino except what i googled last night.

by sheer random chance, i happened to book my vacation for next week and even crazier, for some reason my wife booked our return flight out of west palm beach for sat evening (we usually fly out of miami or ft lauderdale).

    i have a few questions:

    1. is the concorso on saturday open to the general public?
    2. do i have to pay to get in? i cant find a price anywhere.
    3. whats the parking situation like? i dont want to ding my rental stratus (ha!)
    4. is it a mob scene? my flight out is at 7 pm, i won't get stuck in any horrible traffic or anything and not be able to make my flight right?

any other tips for someone who's never been?

    thanks!

The airport is not far away at all. Once you are out of wpb and over the bridge you should be fine.
Parking is very difficult at the Concourse. Yes you do have to pay to get in and the general public is welcome. Who knows how it will be this year, maybe less people are going as the Breakers had rooms still available as of 2 weeks ago. maybe now they are filled.

Its nice to check out. have fun.

I think FL will be a bit more attended than in the recent past...too few Ferrari events this year, and CA events are really down. Therefore, few options for nice, less expensive entertainment.

    I have a few answers...

    1. is the concorso on saturday open to the general public? Yes.
    2. do i have to pay to get in? i cant find a price anywhere. Yes, it is $50 per person.
    3. whats the parking situation like? i dont want to ding my rental stratus (ha!) Parking at the Breakers is about $20 or 30 IIRC. You can try to find parking on the public streets and walk a few blocks but you will have to move the car every hour or so, not likely. You can also catch a cab from West Palm, and park by Cityplace. If you happen to park in West Palm you can walk from the Cavallino back over the bridge (20 or 30 minutes) and go through the other car show that same day (Palm Beach Supercar Weekend). The PBSCW is $25 per person.
    4. is it a mob scene? my flight out is at 7 pm, i won't get stuck in any horrible traffic or anything and not be able to make my flight right? I would not expect any problems leaving or catching your flight. The airport should be about 15 minutes from the Breakers.

any other tips for someone who's never been? I really like the track day on Friday.
Come out Friday night for some steaks!

take advantage of the opportunity...this is one fabulous show
leave time for the parking lot, which has better cars than most shows
also, lunch or a drink in the seafood bar is real treat

I usually park on one of the side streets off of A1A about 4 or 5 blocks south of the Breakers; free, out-of-the-way, and you don't have to move the car once you've parked. But those spaces go quickly, so get there early.

And I find I've run out of things to see by 3 PM or so, so plenty of time to get to PBI.

Get to PBIR on Friday for the track day if you can. And at the Breakers, wander off to the parking lot next to the show site once in awhile, where you may find some fascinating cars as well. Last time I went, I was over there when a Veyron pulled in!
