My subscription had ended with issue #250. However, a few days ago I received issue #251. Thanks . . .
I am from the UK and I have just joined FerrariChat, having just received edition 251 of Cavallino - frightening price increase! I have been subscribing to the magazine for very many years, and have all copies from No.11. I have the reprinted No.1 and copy No.8 - so a few gaps to be filled.
My subscription has risen from £46.00 to £101.00 with free postage - but it does arrive in a padded, cardboard stiffened envelope.
Let’s hope the magazine gives Forghieri the tribute he deserves, as probably one of the dozen most important people in Ferrari history.
Has the magazine announced any pending or potential dates for online subscriptions yet ? I for one could easily see it coming, especially with claimed/stated intentions to increase subscriptions tenfold.
Finally got my Cavallino set live on BaT. It'll be interesting to see if it's a younger "fresh face" to Cavallino, or an established collector who wants a plussed up full set. The #250 issue I received was heavy duty in comparison to the other older ones.
sry. Not just Cavallino so it’ll prob get lost in the shuffle ha https://bringatrailer.com/listing/ferrari-memorabilia-collection-2/#comments-anchor
Saw this ad for what I assume is a collection of all of the covers for issues 1-250 in slipcases. I have tried the link but it does not work for me. Does anyone have any info./insight into these? Thanks Image Unavailable, Please Login
It seems that the degradation of Cavallino magazine has now officially started. Greed has taken over.... The magazine started aiming at an audience of Ferrari enthusiasts but has now become just another business model to rake in money. Really, if you want to celebrate 250 issues what about digitizing all issues and offer this as an online source (like MotorSport has done) to serve your longtime readers instead of going for another big buck high market publication?
You can try this link: https://www.legacy.cavallino.com/shop-collectible-books-ferrari But they are not available yet...
I really don't see the problem with making something that no-one is forced to buy. They are a business and they need to make money to survive. I'm not a fan of digitizing either. If you want the content then buy the magazines. I have much more of a problem with the new price of the magazine and why they have apparently decided they need to devote several pages of each issue to a random female who has little or nothing to do with Ferrari. Having just said they need to make money to survive, there is clearly a balance in pricing where if you charge too much you don't have enough purchasers and I'm not clear why it suddenly needs to be so much more expensive.
Issues 1 to 249 (249 issues): How many times have you seen a photo of founder and editor John W. Barnes, Jr., in the magazine? Issues 250 and 251 (two issues): How many photos are there of the new person in charge? Compare and then come to your own conclusion. Is it still about the cars we all claim we love so much? Or lifestyle and egos now? Marcel Massini
The first thing I noticed in 251 is the “lady content.” Just take a look at the Table of Contents. Now, I love the ladies, and I love dogs, but I love Ferraris too and each has its own niche press. When I look at Cavallino I have certain expectations which have been cultivated over the past 40 years, but lately those expectations have not been met. I wish I could say that just one of the many changes has been positive to me as a subscriber.
i would like to see a detailed article on some model(ie boano, lusso, daytona, 550 etc) of an analysis of it cavallino scoring sheet. explain the deductions and what is needed to correct. not just glamour pix.
I saw this new "Cavallino" for sale at the Lyon Epoq'Auto classic car show last Saturday, issue 250....did not feel like buying it at all. I will focus on completing my early issues collection.
