Over the summer I visited Maranello and got to see an F50 up close. It was at the Ferrari museum that I noticed something that I had not before. The cavallino on the front is not on straight. I've been wondering since then why this is. Anyone have any knowledge of this?

That one is for the Chinese market where the practice of Feng Shui points out that it is
extremely bad luck to have an emblem on your car on straight. If it's slightly slanted when the Devil lunges at you he will slide off.

    ;)

It's also proof that Ferrari's are made by humans not machines.

Not the first time, not the last time. I remember the E one the Ferrari script on the back of the 360 was nothing but straight.Almost like the Dell logo..lol.

Its called the human touch! It will be a sad day when every Ferrari made is built perfectly...

If it bothered the owner it would be an easy fix.

But as said before, hand-built cars have character!

Saw that car at the museum a couple of months ago.
Noticed that it seems to be a well used and enjoyed prototype or factory development car. Look at the underside of the bumpers and they show quite a few scrapes and chips. I know if I was a factory driver, I wouldnt be too concerned about it either!
So coming back to topic, if my guess is correct, the hand made factor applies doubly so to this car, before they got the "production line" moving, and got their horses straightened up!

That was my first thought too, however, there was no evidence of the adhesive... it was set that way some time back... maybe not at the Factory, but definitely not recently.

Isaac: There is no adhesive. The Ferrari badge on the GTO is fastened by 3 studs. This means the letters as they hang off the horizontal part of the "F" can be tweaked by hand. That little "I" on the end is a sucker for punishment from detailers and anyone cleaning the car who is not extra careful around it.

Ask me how I know :)

that would make more sense than a 'tacked' on logo... I should know better.
