I have posted in the Porsche section as well but would appreciate input from my fellow FF owners.

I have just paid the deposit on a Cayenne GTS and have until Saturday to finalise the spec sheet.
Do any Cayenne owners have any advice on must have's before I nail it down.
    Delivery should be early April.

    Cheers,Bob

    (ps- and F12 owners !! )

I'm on my 5th & 6th Cayenne Turbo (S). Must haves are PDCC, PTV Plus & Sport Chrono. If you love music then Burmester & if cost is not a factor then PCCB's. Ceramics are worth it for the elimination of brake dust alone. Everything else is just window dressing.

THey are a great car. i have cayenne Turbo , 911GTS and Panamera GTS... the GTS package is a great value I would recommend adding the premium package Plus ... (not sure how they market it in the UK) it gives you a great package of options for a good value..
what color are you buying.. you will love the car..

I agree, though I'd skip the high end audio system. If you can tell the difference, and it matters to you, go for it.

We spec'd a GTS and a Turbo, in the end we went with a Turbo S. Putting aside the insane price and the great engine, it rolled all the options we wanted in.

Personally, I would have skipped the sunroof if I could. Do get the roof rails and I'd get the crossbars since they are 2-3X after the fact. Depending on how you spec the interior, the CF heated wheel is a nice touch and cheap compared to the Ferrari CF wheel...

The PCCB's are way powerful, one of the best features of the CTTS (most "SUV" cars don't have squat for brakes).

I've mentioned before, we love the CTTS but the gearbox is a letdown; just out of curiosity, have you driven the Macan Turbo? The DCT is very good, and if the smaller package works for you, it's lighter, quick, and you can really toss it. You can also dress it up with the same tech and options of a Cayenne. We might get one...

I'm on my 4th. My last one was a GTS which was terrific, but it was a V8, which the current is not, so I got a 16 Turbo instead. They come very well equipped but I would get the premium packages which includes the 18 way heated and cooled seats if they are not standard. Front and rear cameras are a must and similar to the FF. Also, four zone heating and AC if you have people in the back seat in summer.

Air suspension. Gives amazing plush ride and adjustable ride height.

Also if you like your music Burmester is excellent.

    Enjoy, it's a great car!

You know, I really love the Carmine Red but us Brits are a conservative bunch and a little voice tells me I would regret it a year from now (I'll hopefully keep this car 3years+) so I've gone for jet black metallic.....I have until Saturday to change my mind :0)

    thanks for all the advice!

I own a '14 GTS (so with the lovely V8 which they've now replaced...). One of the best options on my car I find to be the natural leather sport seats. Fantastic seats. I also seriously love the Espresso interior color, at least on our white car.

Other thoughts: I don't hear the difference between Burmester and Bose myself - but go with either, don't stick to the standard audio. Air suspension is preferable and I in fact do like the panoramic roof (and think it belongs on a car like this). Get a rear camera too.

I think you're going to enjoy owning the Cayenne. I told my wife we could swap it for a California this spring and she threatened to kill me if I get rid of the Cayenne :)

GT Silver Bob, fabulous, very similar to my Aperta colour just £15k less :)

Stereo is worth every penny IF you like your music and your car is a haven, where can you enjoy music without interruption these days

Just helped spec one for my sister-in-law and the wife drives a '15 GTS. One thing that to me at least, made a huge difference was the tyres. The dealer had a few on the floor for us to drive and look at. Get the 21" rims and make sure you get the Michelin Latitude Sport 3 summer tyres. They were miles better than the others, both 20" and other 21" wheels. Confidence inspiring, quiet and comfy.

I like the adaptive sports seats over the comfort seats, but others think differently. I'm 181 cm tall and about 73 kg. Not so fond of the standard GTS seats.

The Burmeister is nice, but too expensive for what you get.

Instead of the Burmeister, spend the money on the PDCC, PTV Plus and Sport Crono package.

I find the standard brakes to more than adequate for the day to day runabout of a Cayenne GTS.

As for infotainment, it's a matter of personal preference, and I don't like BOSE audio systems in any way shape or form. I like the Mobile Phone prep rather than the module, TV tuner and voice control options along with the PCM.

Thanks for all the advice, below is what I have gone for -not set in stone until Saturday so any final pointers welcome.

    Jet Black metallic
    black smooth leather finish
    surround view cameras
    panoramic roof
    privacy glass
    heated windscreen
    heated steering wheel
    soft close doors
black roof rails including roof transport system
    power steering plus
    air suspension
    sports chrono
21 inch 911 turbo design wheels with wheel arch extensions
auto dimming interior and exterior mirrors
    comfort lighting
    homelink
adaptive sports seats with 18 way memory
    front and rear heated seats
    satnav
    telephone prep
    voice control
    digital radio
    Bose sound system
and last but not least aluminium fuel filler cap!

I love the way that lots of the little extras are priced in the £300-£600 price bracket so the tendency is to tick the box saying 'its only another £x'
These car manufacturers sure do know how to play us :0)

I would be interested what this would cost in the USA compared to here in the UK- this little lot comes in at £86,977 + £930 on the road charges, so i guess approx $127,000 at the current exchange rate

Can't see that on the configoratur -any ideas what the package includes?
The sales guy seemed to suggest that the interior package the car comes with was pretty much it ,other than making some minor cosmetic alterations there is not a lot to add

I think you'll find its standard on a UK spec GTS but check to be sure.

On the 911 GTS which I'll be getting next month, which has the package, it includes 'GTS' embroidering on the headrests, red stitching, black seatbelts with red sides, red rev counter, etc. I think it may also include the alcantara parts in the interior (alcantara steering wheel, glovebox, etc).

I don't have it on my '14 GTS Cayenne but I believe that's because I have the natural leather/espresso interior. I test drove a Cayenne GTS before I purchased that did have all of the things mentioned above (although not in red, like in the 911).

Thanks , all of the above is standard on a uk spec GTS , but I have opted for the all black leather interior - (the GTS logo will be stitched in black on headrests .I'm personally not so keen on the red stitching/alcantara inserts in the cayenne although really liked it the 458spider that I wish I hadn't sold 😳

Don't forget online services and auto cruise control. Basically add all safety and handling gizmos except for ceramic brakes. Vent and heated seats too.

Coming from an 03 TT and an 09 TTS we made the switch to a Macan turbo and could not be happier. We did not need the extra space of the Cayenne, our kids are still young and the Macan handles closer to the Panamera than to the Cayenne. The PDK is awesome, car is 500lbs lighter than the Cayenne so the power deficit is less of an issue than you would think and PDK helps huge. Actually I don't miss the 550hp of the TTS at all. The black/red interior is a marvel. The car was $95k loaded vs $143k for the 09 TTS (probably even higher now). Fuel usage is 40% lower although the tank is much smaller (20 vs 26 gallons).

Speed wise Macan turbo is faster Than Cayenne GTS (0-60 4.4 vs 4.8) yet it can't match the Cayenne TT 4.1s But that's a small difference to accept for a lot less money and probably much better resale.

I am about to go from a cayenne TT ( I have had 4 ) to a Range Rover SVR, and from a Panamera TTS to a FF. I hope I won't be disappointed in the SVR. The CTT is an awesome vehicle but I just wanted a change.
