I dont think they had one at the SF Auto show. I dropped in and checked it out. Nice lines , very different from pictures. I think I like it enough to get one !! (deliv date next March).

Ask for Ken Pardini at the dealership, very helpfull.

I didn't like the Cayman S too much when it was first annouced. The looks have grown on me a little, but I still think the price is a bit expensive for what you get. I'd rather get a used Carrera or possibly even a Turbo.

I was able to check the Cayman S at the Porsche factory about a month ago while in Stuttgart. Very impressive, especially if they are replacing the Boxter with it. Great lines and the styling is attractive.

I saw the one at Putnam - Burlingame. It has gotten great press and it does not fall short in person. Overall I like it a lot. That said my day to day car needs to have a back seat so Oh well. - George

yeah i checked it out just to see what it was.. my real reason for being in there was to see when they start taking orders on 997 GT3's.. they'll be calling me in about june or so aparently.. *crosses fingers*

nice btw.. I do like it much better than the boxster

dolphin, you'll have to work pretty hard to compete with local established p car sales guys. i have a cayman on order at 5k off.

i like the cayman a lot. will test abuse it 1/15 (first day test drives are allowed). am bored with my 2nd GT3, dumping it next week. if cayman is good as they say after my test drive, i will get that and decline my order on 997GT3.

I love every line on the Cayman and it is not replacing the Boxster, but here is the kicker, they did not put in a limited slip differencial in it. This was a move to keep it from trouncing the 911 (Ala Jeremy Clarkston - Top Gear ). I literally cannot believe it, they bastardized a potencially great car. I had an order in for one this year but cancelled after I heard that nonsense. I'll just keep driving my Boxster S until they come to their senses, it has a limited slip diff.

what order do you have on the gt3??? i was told that no one is specing them out and shouldn't be taking deposits even because its so unclear how many cars they will even get.

by "order" i mean i have put down a deposit on it. you can't spec it yet b/c the ordering guide isn't out as far as i know. PCNA may tell dealers not to take deposit, but no dealer is going to reject cash if you hand it to them ;-)

with regard to LSD, i was told that it can screw up PSM? if there's a way to defeat the psm permanently, i am sure paul guard will make a LSD for cayman. it will take a few years though.

i know that cayman will be raced at grand am next year. i wonder how those teams deal with the lack of LSD. should be interesting to watch.

To be precise I have a friend who owns a dealership and I made a verbal commitment to him, I bought my Boxster from him and told him I would wait a year for the Cayman. I still want one and after Jerremy's rant I'm sure you'll be able to get one.
