Wasn't there already a Black Edition? I swear I saw one at the dealer as long as five years ago. It was black with very subtle gray stripes down the hood and Porsche decals on the side. I remember thinking that the car would look much better without the graphics

Yup, that was it. It's good to know I'm not imagining things. Nevertheless, all of these not-so-special "Special Editions" have become ridiculous.
Porsche has learned from Ferrari that making "specials" near the end of a model run helps maintain volume and improve gross profits. Dave
the Cayman has been out for what, 5 or 6 years, with a revision in '09? I don't think the next one would be due out until 2013 or 2014.
