This is a question for those who've driven the Scud or own one; do the Carbon Brakes feel very grabby/touchy? I know they may be great for track use, but the idea of CCBs for street driving may be overkill. For that portion of the drive on the street, does it feel similar to a normal steel brake setup?

    Thanks.

CCB are per se rather touchy feely but no different on a Scud, 430 or CS, just brilliant

I haven't tried Ferrari's CCBs, my 430 has the standard brakes, but I have tried Porsche's and Lamborghini's. Porsche's were very nice, they stopped well and had great feel. The Lamborghini's were terrible - at least, on the road. Touchy is an understatement.. you push the pedal down an inch or so and get little braking power, push a bit further and get massive throw-you-forward deceleration.

    I hope Ferrari's CCBs are as street-friendly as Porsche's because I sure didn't like Lamborghini's set-up.

Rob I just tried the CCBs on the Superleggera and yes they are indeed grabby. The strange part is, in some cars you can get an idea of whether or not you can get used to them over time. With the way the GSL's is, I can't say I can get used to them over time? Wondering if the Scud is like that as well.

I've owned both and the Ferrari CCBs are definitely more friendly than the Lamborghini on the street, especially at very low speeds. But, like everything else with these exotics, you can get comfortable with the feel of both after awhile---once you know what to expect. On the track, they even out pretty good, once up to temp.

Noticed a huge difference on the Scuderia once they were seated. First experience with CCBs.

I also test drove an SL with CCBs. I can't see ever getting totally used to them, though some Lamborghini owners say they do. IMO, they're ridiculous for street driving. I doubt it was a bedding-in problem either, this particular car had about 1200 miles on it so it wasn't brand new. I didn't buy the car. Not because of the CCBs exclusively, but I really didn't want a paddle car and manual SLs are very hard to find. I may have ended up buying the car if it was a manual, in spite of the CCBs, but I probably would have regretted it later.

I never hear Ferrari owners complain about their CCBs, so they must be significantly more street friendly than the Lamborghini's.

My experience so far with my scud, and CCB's....is that they are definitley NOT grabby....

I've panicked more than once....slowing down,...expecting the car to stop quicker than it does....

They also tend to squeak quite a bit...

Perhaps I don't have them warm enough, or broken in enough . . . .but I'm definitley not impressed with these brakes for normal street / weekend use...

I'm sure my opinion will change if and when I get this car on the track.

I have CCB on my 2008 spyder and I would say that at very low speeds, they can be grabby. But, I do mean very low speeds (like when you're just creeping through traffic). Normally, I don't even notice them.

They are excellent brakes though and I like that they don't have brake dust or squeal. They also look cool.

Are they worth the money if you don't track the car? Well, probably not. But it is another connection with F1 technology and racing and they are the best you can get. If you want the ultimate sports car, shouldn't it come with the ultimate brakes?

They feel "grabby" if you drive the car immediately after one with regular brakes.
My daily driver (CGT Speed) has these brakes so I am used to them in daily traffic grind and have no problem with any mental adjustment when grabbing the keys to Scuderia.

The ones on my CS work great, both on the street and on the track. Sure, they're more "grabby" when I first step into the car after driving my brand-X with steel rotors and big brembos, but once I (i.e. the driver) recalibrate, it's fine.

The brakes are very progressive. Once the get some heat, they get even better. Definitely a great brake system. They're fine for the street.

The F1 transmission is fine for street driving as well. Not harsh, unless you're in the last three settings of the manettino, and even there you can control the smoothness with the gas pedal.

Own a '09 Scud. Drove 2000 km now.

Normal road-use: Work fine, but if you just got it out of the garage or drove it very calm, the brakes are not getting hot enough. So when you slowly slow down (for a red light for example), just before you come to a complete stop, the 2nd gear pulls the car trough its brakes. So at the end you have to brake harder to get the car to engage the clutch. When it engages the clutch the car immediately stops. Pretty annoying! Experienced that a few times, but only before highway- or long-distance-use.. A "solution" is to shift back to first gear when braking. Still pretty jerky...

Track use (or 'not-normal' road-use :D): When you warm them up slowly... DAMN! Never, ever, experienced better brakes!

    Talking about CCB and Scuderia.

Do we have an option for brake pads other than the stock non-sense expensive ones?
