Anyone from this forum going to the CECA track day at Pueblo on May 12?
I will be there, bringing the 430. I got a message it is now sold out but worth looking into wait list if you want to go. I think this is the first time this event has sold out. Not enough tracks/events anymore. Dave
You can be a spectator. All you have to do is sign a waiver at the gate. Bring a helmet and you may be able to get some rides. We usually get a motley assortment of cars including some real cobras, shelbys and an assortment of newer cars. Dave
Not bad event and Dave I like the 430 Here is some pics from today. Marc, The 355 is looking great. Dave, We all know that the real action will be at Golden, good buddy. What's that old catchphrase? "What a feeling!" I am disappointed that I missed the Daytona Comp. One of my favourite cars of all time and I've never seen (heard) one in person.
Ryan, You should have been there. My stint at corner duty was at turn 6, so I got to watch and hear the Daytona go through the compression curve and step on it coming up the hill towards me. The driver was very quick as well. Dave Image Unavailable, Please Login
I believe the driver of the Daytona had participated in the Pikes Peak Hill Climb. It was quite a sight.....i was drooling since i got to Tech Inspect the car before the event.
As impressive it was to see the Daytona, I thought it was kind of a let down(I am sorry) I thought it was going to be a little faster then that, the driver was driving it good though. Now that GT3.....
Ouch! You forget the car is 37 years old. We were just out to exercise not run lap times. Car is also in toally different trim that it was for racing. Plus one needs to be careful when he doesn't know abilities of others on the track. GT-3 lost it right in front of me
From my corner station, you looked pretty quick after a few warm up laps. I wouldn't expect it to keep up with a modern GT3 rolex car. Unfortunately, I was never near your car on the track with the 430. It might have been interesting. BTW, the GT3 was spun not by the owner but someone he allowed to try it out. I hope to see your car on a track again one day. Dave
Yeah I watched him spin out in the GT3 and you dodging away from him. It was good to see out and about.
Are you being serious? A let down? I would say that your expectations are completely, fully, and utterly out of line with what that car is.
It looked like a great event. I am sorry I missed it. Hopefully another track opens in Colorado some day.
Yeah I am being serious. I am not saying that it should be the fastest car out there, it was fast. I could tell that it was hitting the power band a couple times around the track and that was impressive, but overall.
Sorry I showed up late and missed most of you. I did get a chance to meet Dave, and watch his 430 run around the track. Sounded great!
Sorry I missed it...would have absolutley loved that Daytona. I'm going to try and make the June 23rd at Golden, hopefully with a similar (if not better) turnout.
The Daytona had the most amazing engine note. It helped make my corner working stint quite enjoyable. Nice to see a 430 on the track as well (and a 6-speed manual too!)

I won't be driving a car at the place, just spectating. I've actually never been to the Golden CECA track days; are spectators aloud like at PPIR and Pueblo?
