I took a long drive today and the car ran great. About a mile from home however, I hit a bump and the CEL 1-4 lit up. I checked the code and it came back as 1412. I have the WSM on my computer, but can't find where the code index is located (can anyone tell me at least what volume and section it's in?).

Anyhow, a search of the F-Chat archives seemed to indicate that the CEL may be related to the #4 cylinder fuel injector. I've been running injector cleaner and filled up just before the drive. Seeing that the light came on when I hit a bump, is there a specific connection I can check? The car continued to run great even after the CEL. Perhaps some kind of crud in the fuel that caused a momentary issue? Guess I can reset the light and see if it happens again. Let me know what the brain trust thinks. Thanks guys.

    Henry

Henry when I installed the gold connector kit each injector has a plug going to it I would check that first. Did you find the code because I have seen them on here or just google it or when I plug my obd in it describes the code beside the number and error.

Ps Craig at fast cars said car was done late wednesday and there first test drive went good they want to do 1 more Monday and then they are putting cosmetics back on.

I think this is a secondary air thing which doesn't make sense because the engine was already warm. Is it possible the code was in the computer from before and the check engine mil is not related. If you think the code is correct I would check the air rail and vacuume lines going to the rail for that bank.

Thanks Grant, I'll give it a try. The thought did cross my mind that it was an old code. I'll reset the system and try again.

Well I reset the system (numerous old codes still there). The light went out, I added a bottle of injector cleaner to the tank and took it out for a couple of drives since with no issues, or a new CEL. Keeping my fingers crossed...
