After 3 weeks of perfect running I got a CEL this morning. Looked in the fusebox and the Air pump fuse was blown. So I replaced it with a 20A, turned the battery off for about an hour. Started the car and the CEL is still there any ideas?

What's the error code number for the CEL?

Don't know I can't find my Obd2 scanner, so I guess I'll just leave the battery off until tomorrow and let the code clear that way.

Yikes! Heck, if you don't care about knowing the code, you could just unscrew the two screws that hold on your dash pod so that you can remove your CEL bulbs!

But for me, if I had a newer car that required an ODB2 scan tool (rather than flashing the codes through the CEL bulbs as on my ODB1 348), I'd spring for the $50 to buy the ODB2 scan tool: http://www.amazon.com/Actron-CP9125-PocketScan-Diagnostic-Post-1996/dp/B0007LEG2K/ref=pd_bbs_sr_1/002-4991970-5084008?ie=UTF8&s=automotive&qid=1178397338&sr=8-1

That's just me though. No right or wrong answer there. Do what works for you.

No I care what is it, but I'm 99.99% positive that the fuse for the air pump is what caused it, I did a search and found that it is common on 355s. I figure if I go to fire it up tomorrow and the CEL resurfaces, then I'll have it sent out for service.

The CEL light will eventually go out on its own after a certain number of trouble free start/stop cycles. I don't know how many. Disconnecting the battery will not clear the codes on an OBDII 355.

Though on my p-car disconnecting the batttery would clear the codes and turn off the CEL once the problem has been corrected.

Same here. Leave the battery off over night if the problem is fixed the CEL will not return*fingers crossed*. In other threads I've read that leaving the battery disconnected over night will clear the code on a 355. I only cycled the car on and off once so I wouldn't make the requirements for the number of trouble free start/stops.

I have heard it takes three cycles of at least 30 minutes of driving to clear or set a CEL.

The OBD II connector points straight down and it on the right side of the steering column. May have to remove the small box for the door buzzer as it may block access. Not a problem just one mounting screw.
