    After 6 months I have been "devirginized" and got my first CEL. It happened soon after fueling. I plugged in the ODB and code p0442 registered. Now that I know what it is, how do I get the CEL to go off?

    Was/is the fuel cap on tight? i see the code is related to the evaporative emission control system.
    If you read the code, does the OBD2 reader have a code-clear function?

    Yes. I've tightened the cap and cleared the code. CEL is still on. Do I need to drive the car to get the light to go off?

    I have gotten this code once on a really hot day (2000 360). Plugged in my reader and reset the code, it never came back. I checked my fuel cap, it was tight the day it had come on.

    Not sure if it was related but, when my code came on, my coolant reservoir was empty. Did was not running hot. Not sure if a low coolant level can cause this code. Topped off the coolant, maybe coincidental?

    Every time I cleared a code, the CEL would go off.

    I would think your's would too.
