I'd take a Maranello over a TR anyday myself.

Actually, front/mid-engine is the best of both worlds. Like the 612, and Maranello replacement will have.

I'm pretty sure the F430 replacement will have a compact V12, as all future Ferrari engines will derive from the Enzo's V12. 2009 here it comes!

I really do hope so because theres just something about a mid engine V12. I dont know what it is but as soon as I have the means to get one, I'm going to have to.

Even I'd take a 550 over a TR anyday -- but I wouldn't take it over the "next" F512M, especially if they could keep the coachwork size (and the bling ;)) down -- perhaps I am just describing a 360/430 with a 12 cyl.

I don't even know the right word to describe the beauty, success, and just general "rightness" of the 550/575/6... series, and, undoubtedly, the form will always be a main (if not the main) element that is F, but why not do both forms occasionally? Surely, a "new" mid-engine 12 would generate more excitement than the 4th generation 550. Isn't that how they lead us sheep around -- "it's new, it's improved, don't worry about what I said before..." ;)

    Doubt that....base F-car = small, and V8 powered.
