centerlock wheel specs?

messing around with the F40 in CAD (based on measuring the drawings found in the user manual, I started with the front suspension) I started thinking about centerlock wheels in general. things like stud pattern (F40 seems to be something like 5x115?), thread size, safety pin variations, choice of materials, wheel offsets... I'm thinking that it would be logical in a way for rims to be standardized as far as stud patterns and center hole sizing is concerned but at the same time it would also be logical (for pretty much the same reasons) not to have it standardized. What can you guys tell me about centerlock designs?
