First post, looking for some info. I have been out of flying for about 10 years, an opportunity has popped up that has afforded me the chance to get back in to flying. First thing I did was get my second class medical, submitted the address change forms and converted my old paper/cardboard certification card for the new plastic that came in the mail today. I compared it to the old cert. I see that the certifcation is listed on my new card but not my ratings. Did that change while i was away, not listing ratings or do I need to re submit the application for correction? I have a Commercial cert with single and multi rating with an instrument airplane.

LOL. Don't feel bad. It comes up every now and then.

I also want to update my old paper FAA ATPLs, is it much of a process?

If you have your social security number as a cert number, you can get that changed and have a new certificate for free. Otherwise it is two dollars. Not much of a process. Can't remember the procedure, but it is relatively painless.
