Tonight I had the opportunity to hear a :45 presentation by the Cessna Citation gurus from Wichita/Independence about the new Mustang - I have to say that I was very impressed. They have their ducks in a row! They are expecting to produce 40 odd aircraft this year and the 100 - 120 in the next years. I bet they sell like hot cakes.

For an owner flown aircraft, they will be hard to beat from an economics standpoint - per mile cost comparable to my Ferrari that I drive daily - about $2/nautical mile.

And it gets to 41,000 ft in 27 minutes.

If you have $2.6 Million to spend on a great airplane - that is one to keep in mind. (And no - I don't work for Cessna)

I had a demo flight in one a couple of months ago. Fantastic aircraft. As easy if not easier to fly than my Cirrus. I havent looked at the charts but I understand the one drawback is it doesn't like to take off out of high DA airports with much load.

If you operate out of a lot of 3,500 ft strips then it is a serious problem. If most of your flying is into sizable airports, then not a problem - climb is pretty good SL to FL 410 in 27 minutes.
