I am trying to find out how they come apart as I would like to modify (increase) the lumbar support. If you have taken one apart or know of a shop or individual who has, i would greatly appreciate contact info.
I love the seats, just would prefer more lumbar curve and suspect I can add a custom shaped foam pad to solve the issue.
Does anyone else find the lower back support lacking?

FYI: Sparco, OMP, etc sell air bladders that are made for use as additional support. This way you need not take the seat apart... unless your seats are leather, then i guess you would need to somehow attach the air units and not tuck them under the leather.

Steven, mine are leather. Is the bladder meant to go underneath the seat coveriing or over? I was hoping to find out how best to "open" the seat up so I can insert a small custom fit support, but I guess I can always just add some support from the outside. Only problem it tends to slide around and is always needing adjustment.

    I recently had mine reupholstered at Prestige. I don't know what's involved, but here's Fernando's number: 818.753.9606.

    Too much torque...? :)

Years ago, when I lived in NY, my aunt had purchased a brand new Lincoln Navigator... I drove it almost as much as she did and enjoyed the generous, torquey V-8 from light to light... There was only one problem... At 240+ pounds, sitting in a seat wholly composed of crappy GM parts, when I nailed the gas, the car's thrust forward would push my fat ass back as hard as possible, ignoring the electronic setting and forcing the seat to move back as far as possible...

The electronic seat adjustment gizmo thingie had to be repaired... :)

That little story probably gives you zero help with your question, but it just seemed like a good place to tell it... :)

Agree the stock seats, at least with the lowly 308 here, were horrible for 'proper' driving of these cars. i guess if we just posed with the car and polished it, then the stock seats would not matter. But since you drive the car as G-d and Enzo intended, i would suggest doing what i did.

If i may be so bold as to suggest.... Dump the stock seats for proper race seats and Schroth profi-IIasm DOT-approved 4-point belts. That will keep you IN the seat and you'd be surprised how much better you can drive when you are not sliding all over the place in the car's seat. Your lumbar idea may just make it worse as your body sides could more easily slip out of the seat.

Get race seats and harness and don't look back. Save the stock seats in some dark corner of the garage if you plan to sell the car to someone else in the future.

Steve, I have race seats, as in the header. I do not have a problem sliding around and do have 5 pt harnesses for the appropriate occassions(as well as factory roll bar that accepts the harness bar).

My only issue is lumbar support. All I am trying to figure out is how to add lumbar support that will stay put.

Yeah CArbon, your story not only did not help, the image is not what I want to be thinkiing about either!!:D

Alas, i think you'll need $$$ to have the seats redone unless you go for the stick on OMP/Sparco air bladder outside the seat. Would LOVE to see pics of your current seat setup :)

I would be jealous if you were sliding around in that enzo seat you are destined for!! I really do hope you get one as you are much more deserving than most. Maybe some super rich fchat fatcat will gift you one. Would be fitting.

Thanks - check out my profile picture - both pictures fit me perfectly... :)

It'll be so much sweeter if I earn the Enzo - it would, of course, be a huge honor to receive a gift like that... But you never fully appreciate something unless you've earned it... I even stopped playing the lottery, because, at this point in my life, it would be hollow and almost unfair if I won...

I was going to do mine. I was told by Fernando (see M-fan's post) that an inflatable bladder could be easily fitted under the leather.

Jon and Darth, thanks for the lead. I spoke to Fernando and he told me what would need to be done. It is pretty involved, so I will explore add on options first I think. I can fashion the support piece I want and could easily be upholstered, I wonder if the adhesive they use to attach cc to the paper, one that peels off easily, would work to hold it in place w/o damaging the leather???
