Alright, how do I prevent this? My seats look pristine, but the driver's side bolster is starting to show wear (13,000miles)...

I really don't like seat covers - I think they look cheesy (at least the ones I usually see). I want to see leather!

I try to very gently lower myself into the seat - I even take my wallet out so the bulge doesn't wear on the seat. Getting into these seats is somewhat of an acrobatic maneuver. What else can I do?

Honestly, all it would take is a piece of clear non-sheen tape for that little spot (1 inch by 3 inches) to prevent further wear. Anyone have ohter ideas??? I'm not really keen on having tape on my seats either.

Unfortunately, it has been my experience with the TR and 328 seats that the bolsters wear no matter how gently you get in - tan is bad and crema is worse in showing this wear. One saleman at my f-car dealer first tried to explain not to wear jeans as "italians don't wear jeans and seats weren't designed for them" WTF?

In both a 328 and my TR I had a guy out here redo seats and replace the foam for about $1800 I believe (and at about 18K miles)- the seats were better than new with the new foam and looked perfect. I did try the dyeing route once and it seems like a temp fix to get ready for sale or something.

I just kind of resigned myself to the fact of redoing seats every few years. I wish I had better news for you...

But enjoy the car and don't let the little things bother you too much or you'll go crazy.

I agree with Eric I had my TR seats re dyed at 13000 miles they look great but it wont last will probably have to do it again in a few years using the Leatherique Pristine clean and conditioner will help keep the leather supple and in good condition.

Surface dyed, Connolly hydes. Older was worse than the newer. Depends on the color of the Volvo it may be a roller dyed hyde which has the color all the way through. OR he could have been one of my customers and used the products since new.
