Are you sure it's not a Momo? I just put a Momo suede steering wheel on my 308QV and it was a straight swap with no adapter required. My stock horn button even fit perfectly. Of course it's probably not the same as for your TR, but what I got was from www.shopmomo.com/momod78raorr.html and they certainly have others...
Thanks but I am putting a new wheel on my 355 so as it has an air bag the conversion is different the Challange adapter allows for no air bag.
OMP wheels use the Momo bolt/hub pattern, so they are interchangeable. As for original fitment on a 355 CH... I suspect that it was an OMP, as they provided the seats and other bitsas, and were a partial sponsor. No two Challenge cars I've looked at have had the same wheel, but it's been a long time since they were originally converted/built, so who knows. The one in mine when I bought it was effectively a suede version of the 348 steering wheel, with the center pad and wiring for the horn, so I suspect that it's NOT the original Challenge wheel. I swapped it for a Momo wheel I had laying about. I'd just buy whatever Momo or OMP (or whatever wheel you like that has the momo bolt pattern) that you prefer. Or, as always, I could be entirely wrong about everything. vty, --Dennis
I have a '97 355C which is a factory built car. It has red Sparco wheel. From what I can tell from pics and service records and notes this is the way it was from the beginning(I have pics and records from day one). I think the cars came with the factory road car wheel but I can't be sure of that. In checking through the various versions of parts manuals for 348 and 355 challenge cars the only steering wheel referance I find is in the 348 book and that part no. is 148496.This no. does not appear in the 348 road car parts book which includes the no. for Euro only comp 348. As was pointed out in another post I have also seen several other 355Cs and the wheels are all light wieght versions by some manufacturer, OMP etc. I also have a German mag. with some factory promotional photos of the 1998 355C and it has a black OMP wheel with a 328 style horn button but I don't find any part nos. in the '98 book that would prove it is factory. Hope this helps. Regards, Vern
