    We would like to start a thread with technical information about the brakes that we supply .
    There are now several systems out there and we want to be sure that information about our system are installed and maintained in order to work as effective as possible .

    We will document and provide all necessary information about products which we are selling to dealer and customer base .

    The refurbished carbon brakes that we also supply will also be documented as vital information for those that are running with them .

    Our carbon refurbished systems are formulated too be more effective on wear over the standard challenge carbons .

    We will be running and tested both options so there is a choice .

    Our refurbished option costs $6500 which include all four furbished roters and complete pads front and rear .
    The replacement carbon pads are $595 fronts and $395 rears

    The discs supplied in this kit are well tested and used in a variety of race applications. The 72 vane internal structure provides optimal cooling and structural integrity. Due to the extra material the discs do not experience thermal shock as quick as a conventional design.

    Disc cooling should however still be monitored. Normal disc temperature of 520C to 560C (960F-1040F) is recommended with the pad compound we supply. Minimum disc temperature is 260C to 320C (500F-600F). Maximum disc temperature is 610C (1130F). To monitor disc temperatures, brake paint or temperature paint is suggested.

    Color changes are as follows:

    • Green changes to white @ 430C (800F). A full change is ok.
    • Orange change to yellow @ 560C (1040F) Changing on brake surface ok.
    • Red change to white @ 610C (1130F) Only a change near the brake surfaces are ok.

    If all three surfaces change color, the cooling should be increased. If no change occurs the brake ducts should be restricted. A balance should be aimed for between the front and rear temperatures.

    This rear disc was running just below optimum. The outer edges of the orange should have changed to yellow.

    This slot pattern gives a good balance between pedal feel and surface wiping or de-gassing.

    The brake hats are attached to the rotors by a proven bobbin design. Every second bobbin is equipped with an anti-rattle pre-load spring/plate. This prevents rattling and premature wear of the bobbin holes and contact surfaces. Due to the different temperatures and expansion rates of the hat and rotor, the bobbins do not provide a positive lock between these two parts.

    This floating design allows for the different expansion rates and prevents the hat from distorting or cracking. No attempt should be made to over tighten or modify this loose fit. With this design, movement of the bobbin, washer, plate and its bolt as a union, is normal.

    Our brake hats are manufactured from premium grade T6 aluminum. It is then anodized to prevent corrosion and galling of the bobbin holes. The special hard anodizing also prevents premature wear on the mating surfaces of the hat and rotor.

    Our brake pads that are supplied with the kit, are of an XR1 compound. Various other compounds have been tested but the XR1 compound came out as the best option on the F430 Challenge. This compound is used on both front and rear brakes. This gives a very good initial bite and excellent fade resistance. Replacement pads do not need a heat cycle, but still need to be bedded in to conform to a used disc. This is achieved by light brake application for approximately 30 cycles and a further 20 cycles of harder application. Time permitting, inspect pads for high spots, but it can be used right away.

    When replacing brake pads, do not push back the caliper pistons without cleaning. The exposed part of the pistons can have baked on particles that will damage the seals. Clean properly with a cloth and an approved brake cleaner.

    Bedding in of new discs and pads. The new discs need a gradual increase in temperature and pedal pressure. Achieve this by doing several slow speed (under 30 mph) very light pedal applications. Approximately 20 cycles. Next apply the brake pedal for about 30 to 40, 3 second durations, allowing cooling between cycles. Vary the speed between cycles. The intent is to slowly raise the temperature to operating levels, without causing thermal shock to the disc. The last lap can be at near race pace. Do a cool down lap with light brake application and park the car. Let the brakes cool down. The brakes are now ready for full use.

    We will be uploading shortly all information and images of this program .
    Just like our steel brakes now you will have a choice of the optioned carbon refurbishment .

    This is something that we in Europe have being doing because of the cost factor on brakes .

    One thing that we can say is that once you receive the brakes they will be better than new .

    The disc thickness will be back to 34mm
    The friction properties have being improved to last longer than oem .
    An improved brake bite friction between pad and disc .

    This might be something new in the us but already race proven in Europe.

    For the 2013 program we will be racing the SICOM brake configuration.

    We will have various options available for 430 challenges to use:

    • Option1:
      Re-manufactured composite carbon OEM Rotors with a complete set of new pads.

    • Option 2:
      New SICOM composite brake rotors which can be used with the OEM Ferrari Brembo calipers which also comes with a complete set of new pads.

    • Option 3:
      A complete package of SICOM 430 challenge brake option which comprises of:
      • New set of calipers (4)
      • New set of rotors (4)
      • New set of brake pads which will be a "bolt-on" option.

      NOTE:
      This is for cars that are getting "old" and/or are having calipers failures.

    We know that this brake technology is the best out there and more so in a racing environment, and this is why we are partnering with SICOM as the Exlusive Distributor for Ferrari for all North America.

    this is a process that is able to be done to any carbon rotors. if interested email us directly and we can process your order.
    What you will need to do is send us a clear visual image of all 4 roters ( also clear pictures of the hats with legible information) as well the weight of each rotor .
    If this passes our requirements than we would ask you to send it to us. When receiving the rotters we will immediate send off the re manufactured sets with will come with brake pads .

    great seeing you at PBIR with the kids and karts a few weeks ago. Pete and Luigi just installed these rotors on my 430C, look forward to testing them out at Sebring in a couple weeks. What is the "official" bedding procedure for best results?

    Yes good seeing you at the track . you will see that these brakes will last about twice the life of the oem . When i send out these ccm discs they do come out as new and with today's technologies they last longer .
