Can the hand brake work with Challenge brakes? Does the caliper mount on the stock mount or is there an adapter needed?

I have the F40 brakes and they have a standard hand brake. I have recorded over 1.3 g with P-zero corsas at VIR. Love 'em.
Not sure that the F40 brakes are the same as the 350 Challenge brakes. 350 Challenge brakes do not accomodate 350 stock wheels, only the Challenge Speedline wheels. Philippe
No, they are NOT the same. This was a BBK offered for the 355 from Brembo. I think it was somewhat "official" as you could get it done by the dealer.
So your rear brake rotors have a drum built into them for the hand brake? Or it is some other set-up? Do you have a photo of the rear? Thanks
I would not recommend the challenge brake package for street use. The pads are held in with a quick release mechanism and the pads rattle inside the calipers also hard to find a street usable pad for them. Also as was said before there is no provision for an E brake and the stock wheels will not work with them you need to use the challenge wheels which also(IIRC) would require the stud and nut concept vs. the bolt. The brake line lengths are also different from the road car lines.
There are adapters - new caliper brackets, but I believe that is part of the kit. It otherwise just bolts up to my knowledge. Same hubs, etc. Same front brake cooling ducts. I forgot to look at the car and handbrake last night, sorry. I will try to remember to look this weekend.
I have a full 355 Challenge brake package installed on my 348 that I will migrate now on my new F355 F1 Spider. The aluminium rear flanges have a steel drum built into them for the hand brake (see picture). The braking power is amazing compared to stock brakes and street usable with Porterfield brakepads. On track days I am using Pagid blue (much more noisy). It's possible to adjust the pads so that they do not rattle. Beware that this mod is quite expensive. That is strange....the hats and mounting hdwe are NOT what I've got...I have both factory CH hats and Michellotto design hats and neither have hand brake inserts and both have 6 point bolt heads for mounting the hat to rotor...also the hat has 10 same size holes for wheels studs.
f40 brakes are pretty poor...my 355 oem brakes feel way better than my oem f40 brakes, for whatever its worth!
Sounds like a hassle to adapt. I'm going to get the Stoptech kit 355 front ane 332 rears. Easy bolt on and close to same performance. Thanks for all the info.
Exactly like mine Bruce altho mine have the flat head hat bolts as Philippe's do I have been able to stop my brake pads from rattling also Phillippe what are you porterfield pad #s and how thick are they when new?
Vern I took your advice years ago and refrained from purchasing the CH brakes due to excessive rattling...and now you've fixed it??? Great news!! My hats use titanium fastening hdwe...other than that I guess it is identical to yours. The CH brake upgrade will not owrk with stock OEM wheels unless you use a spacer. I have the BremboGT brakes and they have the same braking force as CH when using identical pad material.....the only difference is caliper heat dissapation. The CH caliper has a special coating which allows it to run cooler....the BremboGT finish retains a little more heat in the caliper..OK for street and occasional tracking but for all out racing the CH system is superior.
