What do you think, does it make sense?
What I mean is F-Classiche for 348, 355 and 360 (inkl. GT's) car, what you think, important or nonsense?

Classiche is only available for cars more than 20 years old so you have some time to make up your mind.

Are you sure? A friend just had his F50 recieve a Classiche designation. I don't believe it is 20 years old yet.

As for the 355 Challenge getting a Classiche designation I'm not sure how that would be attained. With the cars modified by their owners when raced and no two cars being cosmetically the same how would they know what it "should" have been like. My understanding of Classiche means everything has to be original and even one little thing wrong fails the car. What door panels were used? Where was the fire extinguisher mounted? If it had one that is. All minor details that really would be difficult to quantify.

    Yes, I'm sure.
F355's where produced from 1995 onwards so the early cars would being to be eligible now.

The basis for certification would be the Challenge rules book and assembly instructions which show what should be there and where it should be.
Things like a colour change don't prevent certification, it simply results in an annotation in the book that the colour was changed. But other things will need to be correct, ie original engine and gearbox, brakes, suspension, wheels etc and all the as delivered bits that make a compliant challenge car such as the correct seats, roll cage, fire system and bodywork such as the lightweight kevlar bumpers (not s replicas which the majority of cars have these days ) and correct window glass ( not perspex)

From what I've seen, there are very, very, original, compliant 355 Challenge cars extant. Nearly every one has been modifed to some extent since the end of their racing career and depending what was done it may make certification difficult if the original components are not available.

I don't think the current value of 355C's justifies Classiche certification, as long as you have all the right bits it can always be done in the future.

as I understand it, Clasiche is available to any Ferrari 20 years or older; any of the "limited edition" cars (F50, Enzo, 599 GTO, etc); or any competition car. so I'm guessing you could Clasiche any challenge car.

the next questions would be which livery to use and which modifications, if any, would be allowed. I'm assuming dealer/race team/sanctioning body records and log books exist for each chassis, but who knows how universally complete they are...

    is it just a certificate?

dont you actually have to send your car tor the classiche department and have them strip and refurb your car to exacting specification that they do and thus $$$$$$ you for?

I will drop them an email and ask, I have spoken to them a couple of times

You get a book with photos and the certificate, The inspection is done at your Ferrari dealer, book arrives about 6 months after that if everything is OK. Car doesnt have to be in perfect conditon, but it has to be original. There are plenty of threads about it in the vintage section.

The refurb is a seperate thing, you can ( but don't have to) send your car there if there are things that need to be rectified. Ferrari classiche don't do all the work in house anyway, much of it is outsourced to specialists in the area.
