    Hey guys,

The Ferrari Challenge Series will soon be the theme for a MAJOR upcoming Ferrari event. On June 10-13 I will be joining HSR in Savannah, GA, to film a promo for this event. What would make this really work would be to have a representation of all four series of Ferrari Challenge race cars (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DevXw2PxltA).

The Savannah track is a good track, made of concrete, with a fast, sweeping, very long, wide banked turn. They ran one race here in 1997, an Indy Lights race that Helio Castroneves won. HSR runs here in June and also October with the www.hhiconcours.com.

This video will be done by a professional film crew. All I need are for a few folks who are interested in helping out with this to come out to play. This notice is late because I just found out about the HSR event today.

Savannah is a first class destination city with a vibrant night life. A great hotel, golf course and spa (bring the family and/or date) are at the track as the track is built in the middle of the golf course (www.westinsavannah.com).

We can run with HSR as well during their practice sessions, and we will have a filming segment to ourselves.

Any interest please contact me at [email protected] or [email protected].

    A Dopo!

Update: After speaking with HSR, they indicated that if we put together 10 cars, the cost for two days with 2 run sessions per day in our own group would be around $300. So far I have 2 cars and need 8. It's also kinda neat to see some of the other cars run, and you never know what might show up. We are accepting other Ferraris as Ralph's is a "308 Huffacher". Street cars are OK as well, but I need the Challenge cars.

Alternative: I believe we can get the track for a half day or full day of filming sometime in late June or in July. For anyone interested, which would be better? This would be lower cost, etc. but no corner workers, etc as it would be for exhibition only. I'm not saying don't go fast, but this is not the same as option one.

HSR is for all marques. Check their website for classifications.

However, if you're asking about what JMF is referring to, he can correct me if I'm wrong, but it sounded to me like a Ferrari-only run group (2 sessions/day). On top of any other run group you would be eligible for. HSR has done this before, and we ran in both the Ferrari-only and regular-class run groups. You can also enter the 1-hr enduro event. Finally, there is the test day, which means 4 very full days at the track. Maybe not as busy as, say, Targa 66, but just keeping track of your on-track schedule will be a task in itself.

    Update:

Thank you Richard Liebhaber for brining the mightly Rolex Championship FoW 360GT. That was an amazing experience, and we have some really awesome video from the three mounting points we used. Well driven indeed, and great to see it out and not in some collection. That's like having a playboy model, but just for show.... when you don't drive them. Of course, the BBLM was nice as well.

I still need some Challenge Cars for this Thursday. I belive that Kurt is sending the "Art Car" that was done by Nichole Miller, but we need a 355 and 430 Challenge. If you can help it will be very much appreciated.

Ferraris needed 6-24 Savannah GA photoshoot and track touring-

    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

    Greetings:

Next Thursday in Savannah at the Hutchinson Island track (in front of the Westin Hotel http://www.westinsavannah.com/) SCAD will be shooting part of our DVD and video to promote the FCA2011 meet. We will have some Ferraris there, but need more. Anyone intereasted in helping out?

Why Thursday? We are guest of Executive Director Carolyn Vanagel and the HHIC (www.hhiconcours.com) as they have the track and will be conducting media touring via their sponsor Porsche at the track.

1-Shooting will start at 10AM but will run longer

2-We will run at somewhat reduced speed with Go Cameras as well as stationary filming on the track as this is not a track day

3-We will move the cars to the water side of the hotel for a photo shoot

5-The purpose of this DVD/photo shoot is to promote our upcoming international meet in 2011. These promotional items will be seen by thousands of FCA members, and it is my hope that it will be the best promo ever developed for the club as SCAD is doing it.

Please let me know if you can be there by contacting me at [email protected] or PM on Fchat.

We already have some great footage of Richard Liebhaber in the awesome FoW 360GT that won the Rolex Championship and Ralph in the 308 "LM". This footage will supplement that.
