    Is it normal for the exhaust to rattle when the car is idling?

    Is it a failure of something? Or an adjustment?

    Only noticeable at idle

    I don't think a rattle is normal. Did it always do it, or is it something that you just started noticing?

    Its always done it, at least since I bought it, not bad just noticeable, like a heatshield may be loose or something

    Mine doesn't rattle, but I have a custom header back system.

    I would start the car and go back and try to locate the source. It could just be a loose bolt or shield.

    Hero,

    Look in the body exhaust exit at the bumper. Both sides. You should see a strong mount welded on the bottom of the exhaust pipes. This weld will fatigue (crack at the weld) and rattle to the end of the earth. You need to tack weld it back together.

    To test: Get the rattle going then lean your shoe against the tip on either side. If your rattle goes away via the shoe - then reweld the metal bracket.

    Exhaust rattle located, see offending item, located on the um..port side it rattles on its mounting, I think its the valve that opens when I hit the race button, guess I'll need to remove the bumper to get to it...
