Pirelli P Zero sucks so badly!!!!!
Sorry, but after 9.000 Pirelli km`s I`m going back to Bridgestone or Michelin.
I`ll do a write up about my Pirelli experiences within the next few days here.

    Hi Peter,

What are you planning to do with used P-Zero Corsa? Just a bit curious.

FYI I changed my P-Zero C dry for P-Zero Corsa a few month ago.

    Wolfgang,

Is the story about having a F355 with P-Zero Corsa tires sticking to your ass in the Swiss Alps corners? :D :D

Anyway. I can remember similar complains (ie from Alex) about Michelin tires. So I would say that the customer satisfaction strongly depend on the care usage and expectations.

    Bye,
    Christophe.

    Hello Christohpe,

maybe Pirelli works pretty good with a 355 but sadly not with my testa:(
Heavy & strange under-steering, too soft when its hot(summer), doesn`t works in rain.....a.s.o. I have driven the Pirellis over 9.000km`s, country roads, Autobahn, Swiss-Alps:D, Italy, Nürburgring F1 track, Hockenheim Ring F1 track.....sucks always soooooo badly:(

To answer both of you: The P Zero Corsa on the CS is a tyre that Pirelli have made SPECIFICALLY for the CS. I had P zeros on my 512 TR when it was new and I agree that they were worse than awful. However, the Corsa for the CS is truly exceptional and in any case is the only tyre that is homologated for and that fits the CS.

The reason we cannot get any slicks for the CS is that there are none made in the correct dimensions in 19". Therefore, the plan is to gather as many used ones as possible strip off the remaining surface and resurface them as slicks. This process (vulcanization) comes with a German TuV approval

Understood. Does it mean that none of the major tires manufacturer propose slick tires (in the right dimention) for the CS? What about Yokohama, Avon, ... ?

Can you tell me one thing Peter? Based on your profile, you seams be leaving in the US. When your avatar is showing the French Ferrari club logo. And finally you are talking about getting the Corsa tires resurfaced in Germany.

Will it not be very tuff and expensive to do this tire job accross ... the world? You must be really desperate to find slick tires for your CS.

I'm may be a bit too curious. But I wonder where you are in fact living (US, Europe, ...).

By the way, have you got any similar experience (personnal or not) with P-Zero Corsa on a F355? I'm (apparently) so far the only guy on the forum to have such tires. I therefore could not exchange any feeling, experience, advises, ...

    Bye,
    Christophe.

    Christophe,
I tried all manufacturers including those you mention - no luck.

I live in the US ( in Connecticut) but used to live in France. Kept my Ferrari in France as I have been a French Club member for 17 years and love track outings that we do a lot of - so I fly over for outings and manage to do about 10 000 kms/yr. Am also on the Board of the French Club.

The tyres will be vulcanized in Italy but meet TüV standards, and in any case a resurfaced slick will be less expensive than a new P Zero Corsa....

As to your question on the P Zero Corsa on non CS cars: have some friends who run Porsches on them and love them and a couple of 360 Modenas too with the same conclusion.

The tyres wear very quickly because the compound is soft ( you cannot have great grip, constant performance on a track from a road-legal tyre without some penalty!!!!)

    Peter,

Thanks for your reply and explanations.

I will remember to contact you next time I will have to replace my Corsa tires - if you wish.

See you at Never in October.

    Regards,
    Christophe.
