I should be becoming an owner of a CS at the end of next week. I am counting the sleeps. Hopefully I will be organised to take it out on april 16 with the porsche club around QR . I am very interested in finding out if the CS is quicker than my GT3 . Tyres are the issue for the CS . Pirelli don't make the same type of corsa tyre in a 19 inch rim as the 18 inch . This gives the GT3 a big advantage. I will make an effort in posting some pics of the CS , GT2 and GT3 together.

    rock on

I'd love to as the CS will be a sort after car for years to come but I don't know if the wallet will stretch far enough. It will be good to compare the CS to the 430 then I will make my mind up.

A very nice choice, should compliment the two GT's nicely :) The sound of the 360CS is among (if not) the best of any car I have ever heard :)

oh please do, some high-res pics of those beauties together would be awesome :)

    What GT3 do you have.....

I know a 360C on slicks as almost exactly the same speed as a 2000-2002 GT3 on slicks, so the cars are VERY closely matched.

I'd say the extra oomf of the CS would make it faster than your GT3...once you tame it!

Go and drive it, and afterwards, I'll be happy to help you adjust it to suit your style.

phil thanks for the offer in setting up the car. I will be asking for plenty of advice. My GT3 2003 is just a touring pack with a race seat . I've changed the exhaust with a star exhaust ex melb and had the ECU upgraded plus I run a set of yellow pagid pads. All up a gain of about 40hp.

    thanks

In the rest of the world, Ferrari produced more cars than agreed to keep up with demand for the CS, here in Aust they've being trying to offload this last CS for around 6 months. It was offered to me at a great price when I placed my 430 order. Seems Australians are more show than go??

isn't it strange that Ferrari can put a stripe over the car and charge $15k but if you put a stripe over any other car and you're called a wanker ???

Scud, are you still taking the car out to QR on the 16th ?

Are you going to the ICCI in Brissy the night before ?

Be nice to see it ..... a real one :D

I think there would only be one unallocated CS doing the rounds. Buyer must have backed out. The market for these sort of cars is very thin in Australia, so an unallocated Marenllo Imports car will be hawked by all the dealers. I was at Lance Dixon at the time.

I have to admit I didn't look at the pics before posting, I just went through my thumbnails and picked out the ones I could see a stripe on and posted them.
But yes it is obvious that its not a CS, but still gives a general idea what it would look like with a stripe in that colour :)

You ordered your originally then? I was under the impression, I'm not sure why, that you had wrangled a deal to get the car recently when trying to order a 430.

No I didn't order the car . I saw the add for the car 1 week ago and made sure it was going to end up in my garage. The opportunity to grab a CS is too great to pass up even if I have a 430 at the end of this year . I am 99% sure I will have the keys in my hand soon. It is a tricky transaction so I can't give too much away. Sorry for the secrecy.

i have found them equal on a smooth flat track, where the strad clearly excels by a large margin is bumpy surfaces like my mountian roads in malibu, while your tyre point is well taken. other friends of mine have corroberated this advantge

the 05 boxster w/ PASM and sport handles the bumps darn near as well as the strad

unfortunatley the key to the CS won't be in my hands this week so it won't be making an apperance at QR this weekend. I must wait until next week. i will be attending the ferrari day on the 24th of april meeting at shell gales so you will be able to have a look then.
