I've been thinking about French Champagne recently. Increasing worldwide demand plus the sagging Euro/Dollar exchange rate has hammered prices. Know that the world economy has the flu and the dollar is stronger, does anyone have a bead on where prices will be headed (down, certainly, but how much)?

If you have access to Costco, they have Dom at about $125/bottle.

I'm trying to find of number of different bottles, but mostly some Bollinger Grande Anne.

That is a good price, thanks!

Would you buy online? If so who do you trust?

I try to support my local vendors (and I'm on the other side of the country from you). Having said that, I have had good dealings with Gotham Wines in New York City several years ago on a limited supply Tattinger Rose. Price was much better than I could get here. On this coast I have used K&L Wines (I just checked, they have the '99 Dom at 136.99/bottle).

What I'm really trying to get a handle on is if prices (because of crashing world economies) may decrease (plus, the exchange rate is improving).

    Good Luck
