figure I’d share this here https://rennlist.com/forums/991-gt3-gt3rs-and-911r/1096502-gt-car-salesman-shiraaz-sookralli-34.html
cliff notes? sounds like a rogue employee was accepting deposits via checks made out to a company with a name that would lead you to believe that you were depositing money with Champion, then skipped town with everyone's money. bad deal, but a) not sure how this is Champion's fault (assuming they terminated the employee immediately on finding out), and b) not sure what people want Champion/PCNA to do about it. due diligence is your friend, folks. don't put a deposit on a car without verifying entity names, have a sales or deposit contract, etc.
I've been following that thread. Supposedly he made out with 2.5 m. In July the owner of Champion died in a boating accident with 2 friends. I think they all drowned. You have to wonder of this is related.
What greed. That dealership must be a cash cow given the location and volume they handle. They have had some negative issues pop up about their finances over the last decade that I found surprising. This is not directly Champions' fault, but it is one of their own employees so...
according to various social media posts from the dealer, they (or their E&O insurance underwriter) is going to make the scammed customers whole. which is way above and beyond IMO. https://www.instagram.com/p/BnuRq0VnZFH/?utm_source=ig_web_button_share_sheet https://www.facebook.com/championporsche/
Its the biggest Porsche dealership in the world in terms of volume of new cars they move through there each year.

Saw that Champion memo re: making customers whole Best thing they can do: immediately refund all deposits, then work with PCNA/PAG to make extra GT cars and get them to the affected customers at MSRP
He was employed by Champion. This is no difference then going into a best buy and having the cashier steal your money and never ship your TV. As long as you the customer has a contract/receipt that legally represents the dealer/retailer as the seller, you are entitled to your monies or the item. Smartest move Champion can do is to fully compensate the customers with a full refund.
“Months later, all the affected owners have been made whole one way or another, Champion Porsche attorney Roy Diaz told the Orlando Sun-Sentinel” ... is this accurate? Have the victims actually been made whole again? Anyone know someone who hasn’t?
