Hard to vote for me - Miura is flat out art, sculpture. Diablo is a bit more of a car in my mind. That may sound utterly stupid, it even looks stupid as I re-read it, but I can't put it much better. I guess what puts me over the top is the greater functionality of the Diablo in a body that, to me, is still chiseled and quite likely, timeless. While I could never argue the Miura to be anything but sensual, beautiful even, the Diablo appeals to the 'car guy' side of me more for whatever reason. YMMV

The simplicity of The Miura is what makes it so beautiful you have to put yourself in 1967 to appreciate it, impossible for the younger generation who think that Gallardos actually look like a Lamborghini, when in fact they more resemble a German tank. Nice car but Not a Lambo.

True, but a good test is to put it next to the cars of 05 and see how it stacks up. In my opinion, it could be on a new car showroom today, and none would be the wiser. That is 14 years after introduction. Try that with say....a 348, or maybe a 91 Vette, or a 91 SL Benz. They just don't fit today. But, time will tell.

I didn't mean everyone who votes for D is a kid, but that:

My 'kids comment' is that younger members who don't know the history of Lambo, or any of its models before 1980 will will skew the poll against what they see as a dated (because its older then them) slow (because it is slower many exotic cars today) car.'

That doesn't mean EVERYONE would still vote for M. Just that it will be skewed.

This is akin to having a vote for whether a F50 or a 250 LM is better. That poll too would be skewed in a similar manner.

In Lambo terms, start a poll whether Lambo should make an(other) SUV. I can guarantee you a sig. portion of those responding will not even know the LM ever existed, and thereby think it against the very nature of Lambo to build one.

Only 62 votes. Lets get the Votes out!!

  8. The Miura wins to me. It really put Lamborghini on the map, without that car, or the Countach, there would be no Diablo. I would be tickeled pink, however to have either. I drove a Countach a month ago, could not believe how badly I fit in it, and I am 6 foot, 170 lbs. What I have read about the Diablo sounds pretty good however.

Well Ray. I don't look at a car being "the best of the breed", simply because it came first. The look, performance....aura, that's what I'm talking about. Is a 50's Corvette the best Vette ever, just because it came first? No. For me, its the mid-years. Maybe a bad comparison, but older and first does not mean better. Lambo learned over the years, and ultimately produced a work of art, and the greatest Lambo ever.........THE DIABLO BABY!!!

I've seen a few Miuras in person and 10 times as many Diablos. Maybe it's my age but the classics never did it for me. I'm all for the Diablo.

before you vote for that 90's car , take a look at this pic posted by Frank (reply # 54) http://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/showthread.php?t=70475&page=3&pp=20

I must say that everytime I have the chance to stare at a Miura in the flesh
or at very least enjoy a good Miura pic
it reminds me of why I decided to name my daughter after her.
    gorgeous piece of sensual art.

also I must admit it DIABLO is the best name any car has ever had.

( I hope this poll is not an age matter)

Great looking car, Frank. Now you have a color I could live with.
I feel the Diablo market firming with the results of this poll.
