LOL. Yes, I am aware of the Miura votes that are coming in from : 1. Other sites being asked to come here and vote 2. People who just registered and happened to go right to this poll and vote for the Miura. All that aside, it is still entertaining.
So how long are we gonna let this thing roll? I'm thinking about letting the Muira pull ahead for a day or two and then bringing in the reinforcements and thoroughly establishing Diablo domination. On a more serious note, it is definately clear that both of these cars bring out the passion, which was their design intent. To me personally, and from what I have read everyone else as well, the results of this poll mean absolutely nothing to me. If the Muira wins, I know that I as well as probably AJ and the other Diablo guys are not going to be swayed one bit from thinking that the Diablo is the ultimate Lambo. In the same breath, I think the Muira guys are going to be the same way. Since it has been stated that the Diablo will win because of the hairy chested guys and those who want to have hairy chests, I think that if the Muira pulls ahead, it will be because of the Muira guys going over and getting the rest of the old farts from the classic Lambo forums to come over and vote. AJ, whenever this ends, could you post information like how many votes on each side were made by rookie members etc etc?

Hey guys, I just came across this forgotten poll. Remember in 1999 The Dupont Registry conducted a 5 month poll of its readers, for the top 100 cars of the century. And I'm sure you remember the Cover Car on that issue. Yes, it was in fact a Diablo, voted by subscribers as the Greatest car of the Century. Certainly the poll was biased towards more modern cars, but important to note that the Diablo kicked all of the current modern cars to hell and back, appropriately speaking. The Mercedes Gullwing did represent the classics in the top 5 however. Here is some commentary from Lambocars.com Also a few pics I had hanging around. "The number one car of the 20th century. Lamborghini Diablo The duPont Registry, a major monthly car magazine launched back in 1985, filled with collectible luxury and exotic automobiles for sale has conducted a survey among it's readers worldwide and the visitors to their web site, to compile a list of the most notable cars during this century. Participation was possible from January 1999 to May 1999 and they had to conclude that the Lamborghini Diablo is in fact by far the number one car of the 20th century. The top five places all went to exotic cars, the McLaren F1 became number two, while the powerful Viper GTS Coupe took third place. The Lamborghini Countach series was located at the 15th place while the fabulous Miura was at the 86th place, probably because of the age of these magnificent cars, the younger cars took the first places, although 6th place was in fact taken by the Mercedes SL300 Gullwing.
