Has anyone changed the color of their calipers? What do you think is a fair price to have it done? If you have any photos I would like to see a red Ferrari with yellow calipers. I currently have red calipers.
I was looking to have mine repainted from red to the yellow,,, any good body shop can do it... harder thing is to find proper Ferrari logo stickers
And make sure to place the logos properly as some of them should be "upside down" on one side. Image Unavailable, Please Login
They do make caliper "covers" changes the color, keeps the oem....just google search it....they run about $200 for a set
A common mod in the Porsche community. There are DIY's there on changing colors using high temp and/or caliper paint and applying decals. Others have powder coated them and they are awesome, probably the best, longest lasting method. All the pics look very good, though. Through cleaning is the key from what they say. Or buy a set off of eBay. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk HD
Paul- Very easy to do by any competent paint shop and normal auto paint works fine. Ferrari yellow calipers are painted Giallo Modena, PPG 84028. First a color coat is applied, and then the decals are applied. The caliper is then painted with clear coat to protect the caliper and the decals. Brake decals are easy to find on the internet. I put together a collection of about 50 to make sure I had the correct sizes. If you have steel brakes, the decals are about 3" long. There is also a company that will make brake decals saying anything you like and they did the billet and ceramic decals for me. Here is an image of my front Mov'Its after finishing one and after installation. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Normal powder also will change color and deteriorate with high heat applications. Best is anodized or ceramic powder (pic). Image Unavailable, Please Login
For street or occasional track use, the calipers never get hot enough to compromise regular auto 2 part paint. Mine have been used for over 4 years now with no discoloration.
Didn't have time to do it myself so got mine done for about $1500.. very big difference if you ask me, just wish they were bigger! Image Unavailable, Please Login
Mine were about half that, but I bet the $1500 included R&Ring the calipers, too. Much less expensive to remove and clean them yourself and take them to a good paint shop.
HOLY !!!! If people want their calipers powdercoated , and you are willing to take all bushings , grommets and other items off them , I can powdercoat them for a hell of a lot cheaper . You would have to take care of the decals and stuff on your end but the prep and powder I can handle . My friend has been doing it at his house for many years and charges a fraction of what a shop charges outside of El Paso . Some people are just way too proud of their work at the customers expense .
Same - that has been my experience for the most part. There are certain colors that may darken a bit though. OP - I recommend iND Distribution Group & Eisenmann North America | Custom Vehicle Solutions for BMW, Audi, Mercedes Benz, Nissan, Porsche, Ferrari | Eisenmann, Motorsport24, 3D Design, iND Parts and Accessories, Victory Road for this work. They did my stoptech kit on my M3 and their work is exceptional.
