At what S/N (or approx.) was the change from the green cover to blue cover warranty book? I think it was during the M-series so I guess 206 and L-series were all green covers. Also, were there different languages or variations for the green covered book? thanks, Andrew
Andrew, that`s correct. Change was for late M-series in spring 1971. The green version came only in Italian language. Regards Matthias
Do you know the approximate S/N when the change occurred? Spring is around SN 01600-01700 ? I realize it was probably a more gradual change than abrupt probably... thanks, Andrew
My 01712 Euro GT had a factory invoice date of March 1971...I don't consider March to be in the spring.
#01614 was green #01978 was blue so I would guess more around 01700-01800.... but anyway depending on delivery , not on production date, so it`s difficult to be precise definitively gradual change
Thanks for the data points Matthias. Ron, do you know if yours was originally green? Anyone else have a datapoint to share? Thanks, Andrew
I do not know, but when I had asked Matthias what docs would make a complete set for my particular car, he said my warranty book should in Italian and green.
Hm, green in Italian: Blue in French: So far it looks like you are right.. but wait.... blue in english.. and this is a warranty card for a Car sold in Germany. So my experience is: They used what they had available for colours and languages..
Of Course Andrew, The blue one in english is from # 04164 (E- Series Dino but M- Series warranty book, sold in July 1972 in Germany) The green Italian one is from # 01246 (M- Series Dino but L- Serie warranty book, sold in Now. 1970 in Italy) As I said, no real relation as with between car series and the right owners manuals or spare parts catalogues ;-) The other one I don´t know, sold it long ago.
