Is possible to change radio stations or cd tracks using the buttons behind the steering wheel? Am I missing something immediately obvious or did Ferrari not include this feature? I got the Bose system if that helps.

On the 612, I believe it's on the right side of the steering wheel, behind the spoke, as johns930 pointed out. It will also switch tracks, etc.

Doesn't seem to work on the 599, all it does is change the mileage display on the LCD screen on the dash.

there are i believe 4 or 6 buttons/nobs behind the steering wheel of my 599...quite useless buggers in my opinion...I too thought i was doing something wrong with not raising/lowering the volume or changing stations/tracks....

It depends on the "Mode" you are in. Garbage in my opinion.
