    Hello,

I will be moving to Belgium this summer and I am contemplating taking my 2011 California with me. However, my dealer wants it and is trying to tell me it will have a lot of difficulty to change everything over. So I wanted to get a second opinion because I think he just wants to sell as there is still a waiting list and they cannot always get enough cars to sell.

My car is based in California and is a California.

The only thing I can think of off hand is the Spedometer, Odometer, Navigation and maybe the Radio(Not sure if there is a different standard like TVs and PAL and NTSC)? Would these changes cost a lot and be supported by my local dealer to help me with it?

By the way, I checked online and the prices for used are about the same. One thing I suppose I could save on VAT I guess and hopefully since I owned it just about 1 year shouldn't be any other taxes. Hmmm....maybe he was right.

I believe the US, and specifically California, has the strictest rules in the world for safety, etc.
I don't think you HAVE to have KPH speedo.

I'm interested in hearing what experts have to say.

You could probably get a temporary use permit?

Are all your lights tires & windows marked CE - needed for Euro compliance - do your xenons have a washer system - speedo showing kph would be needed - cars do come over but there's a stigma - if you sell yours into a strong home market you could then order a new car in Europe with next to no waiting & correct everything you got wrong on the spec of this one !

Dont have time to respond here, but I lived in Belgium for six years. I may be able to give some insight. Send me a PM if I dont get back to this thread in a day or so.
