Has anyone done this? I've seen the odd mention but not a confirmation. Obviously you need to change the starter ring, clutch itself and flywheel. My main question is are the voith systems the same? and can you just swap the flywheel over? Not sure they can be as there needs to be enough room to accommodate a twin and keep the same placing for the starter ring and throw-out bearing.
You must change the face plate on the flywheel, t/o brng the same. There is no good reason to go to this expense unless you already have the parts.
We are machining some new flywheels from a chrome moly billet. I was mainly doing this for a Gallardo and also the 355 as they are so prone to warping and you can only grind so much off. Whilst at it I thought we could do the 348 flywheels as well, as they are so very expensive to buy complete with the voith system. and whilst at it this question occurred and could be another option for people. I had always thought of doing it when i did have a 348 but never got around to the detail.
