Does anyone have a method of changing the ac belt in a 308 gtb? Was out driving and the alternator/waterpump belt snapped, in turn popping my ac belt. I had a belt to get going again, and when I got home to try to replace ac belt, couldn't figure it out. Can't seem to get belt over compressor pulley. When put over other pulley and pushing down on idler it seems small, but I know it's the right belt. Any ideas? Thanks!!

Yes, you are correct that it is a lot harder than one would expect. Although I have a 328, I think the procedure is the same. I had to lower the compressor itself, by loosening the three bolts that hold it up. Then you can twist it enough to get the belt on, tighten it back up on the bracket, then adjust the idler. Or wait until next summer :). -Steve
